The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

russia import thermal mostly the only domestic is the sosna-u which is largely worse than the import and cost the same(sosna is still decent tho given what they have and had)

Sosna-U uses a french component iirc

why would they use a significantly more expensive variant on a static target when they also market a GPS guided one?

ah

iirc its a Thales unit built under licence

I think so

so their current thermals production is probably even worse due to sanctions

this flagging system is ridiculous

bassically anything on ground without a aps is fpv food

Or they just work with China now.

True, looking back at the video it was apparently a pontoon crossing tho.

Sosna-U is the whole sight complex not the imager. Catherine-FC is the imager and has been largely replaced in new production with russias own imager which i dont have info to hand about.

pontoon bridges need to be very securely anchored in place and are very immobile once established

ok

apparently then the only IIR missiles other than kh38ml left is the kh59mk/mk2 and LMUR

Yes but I mean that it implies more high value targets are in the area.

likley using a lot of cheap chinese tat to cover their impotent industrial capabilities. I’m pretty sure they use a lot of consumer grade NODs and things as they haven’t got the economy to use better

LMUR could probably be added in a nerfed state like the brimstone, however afaik it would only be usable on the Mi-28NM

I work in sales and visit a lot of customers in all branches of the industrie.
If you think China still only makes cheap stuff, you are in for a bad awakening.

What they put out in the last 10 years or so is not worse than our stuff.

not really? if anything a pontoon bridge is one of the highest possible value targets as disabling it greatly improves defensive capability

that cruise missle likely only uses it like other ones as well, the IR seeker for final approaches to ignore jammers to hit hard positions

helicopter missle could be implemented with lesser range limited to 10km like they are already doing with spike er missles.

sure but due to the sharp lack of supply because sanctions+limited industrial base why would china not sell the cheapest possible systems for as much as a more expensive one?
