Well the missile already existed, it’s just a seeker swap correct? So it’s a debate truly over whether or not the seeker is currently in service or exists?
I’ve seen things that suggest the seeker is being used in small numbers, and does exist. They have been deployed according to 2 sources, none of which I can link due to:

Well, there is verified evidence that SRAAMs have actually had multiple test firings. So whilst they are a prototype weapon that was canceled before entering service, they did at least exist in their entirity and were functional. Which is likely the bare minimum requirement for a weapon system to be added.
Kh-29D? That thing doesn’t exist iirc, only being mentioned in some papers. As for KH-25MTP, I think it was made, but unsure if it was tested, so idk if it’s something like a valid replacement for the 38MT
