On yt and X are thermal targeting clips from russian choppers. Does it even look like Gen 1?
A classic is the AGAVA tank sight from the 90’ties (i think). Ingame they’re gen1 quality, but irl screens look like…dunno you just see a huge white blip you can’t even identify. You just see that there’s a thermal source, impossible to identify.

Agava and the thermals on the M1 (original) are closer to gen 0.5 IRL than they are gen 1.
those are practically museum pieces compared to brimstones. Though tbh I have no issue with MMW being added as long as it isn’t only for 1 vehicle
It is literally a miniature cruise missile. It’s a powered weapon with much better time to target than any glide bomb

Of course actual counterparts would have to come, unless you want Kh-38MT situation again
Id rather they wait and redo the radar codebase first. Imagine the TKing when the sidelobe illumination mechanic erroneously kicks in.

One requires the other and iirc gaijin eluded to that in the GR4 dev blog when talking about artificial and natural interference etc. Its also why you dont see me pushing for the ARH A2G munitions for the USSR.

Given Russia’s push for import substitution and the T220s development by a state-owned corporation, it’s likely designed to maximize Russian made components. So I wouldn’t say Russia isn’t capable of making them because they definitely are, of the second and third generation as well.

Whether russia can or cannot make thermals isn’t in doubt. The quality of those thermals is very much in doubt but its irrelevant about whether the kh-38MT exists or not
