KH-38MT is dumb, it is the biggest crutch Russian mains have ever had. It should have been limited to the Su-25 and Su-34. Giving Russia 2 aircraft that can carry 6 KH-38MT was stupidity on Gaijins part.
I don’t why would people bring out other AGMs in a KH38MT thread just to make a dumb point, also those 6 AGMs are still being used at 12.0 which at that BR they really tend to perform worse.
Also forgot to add that the Tnguska sit at 10.7 and it can intercept those AGMs pretty easily.
And i said there’s no point bringing them out in this conversation when its about KH38MT, and the A10A is still so easy to kill compared to the SU25K that survives more than actual tanks, AGM65Ds get the 2S6 that performs better than any SPAA in its BR, but the KH38MT doesn’t have any SPAA to stop it.
The A-4M (A-4N), Aka. the; Ayit found in the Israeli tree has; 3x AGM-65A + 2x Walleye + 2xBullpups, which it can carry simultaneously at 9.7 / 9.3, the A-10A with it’s paltry 6x AGM-65 B / -65D at 10.3 isn’t really all that bad in comparison.
In fact the A-10 carries less ordnance, slower. and with the capability to use the Walleye as a ersatz TGP it’s even got something the A-10A doesn’t especially considering that the Thermal channel on the -65D is first gen and so has terrible resolution, and less zoom overall.
The core difference though is that SPAA is effective.
At least i’ve never had issues with hard countering an A-10 with the Stormer HVM at 10.3
But the ADATS (and more than a few others at top tier) cannot be used against fixed wing CAS and its stupid that the soviets have both the best SPAA (and have done so for that last 2 or 3 years without equal) and now they have an insanely capable AGM and have done so for the past year.
Even just removing the IOG from the KH-38MT for every reason they gave for removing the MMW from the Brismtone would have made a world of difference. Especially now its been revealed to be a fake weapon added for the sole purpose of giving the soviets an OP AGM (and it is that, otherwise they could have given the fictional IR seeker to the KH-29)
Most AGMs at lower BR get a counter such as the A10A that’s slow gets the 2S6, Strela as a counter while the KH38MT has no counter at all with 3 different airplanes that can carry it, the double standards that Gaijin usually tend to do when it comes to only a single nation.
But they should be looked at in a vacuum, since Gaijin selectively decides on permitted stores / ammo configuration for a given vehicle, based on BR and assorted other factors to follow their idea of what provides balance.
Many aircraft with the AGM-65A or -65B could / should also carry the -65D the fact that they don’t is a balancing consideration, the same way the Walleye II hasn’t been implemented on any of the aircraft in game that could carry it.
No it shouldn’t as they’re just only one part of a vehicle that’s carrying them.
You can say that 38MT is the best AGM, but saying the vehicle is OP just because it’s the best at one metric is asinine.
They could, but the real question is that plane with that configuration needed for the nation in question at that given BR. It’s better to have vehicles spread out than having several ones mashed together at the same BR.
