Compared to what? Typhoon and Rafale (also F-15E and F-16C, but that’s less relevant I suppose) bleed significantly less speed in turns and accelerate better. So yes, compared to them the Su-30SM is a brick, or at least becomes one after one turn. That’s not suitable at all for the Brimstone gameplay that requries you to stay low and turn a lot. After the first two turns the Su-30SM goes 800 kph and then takes half a minute to get back up to speed.
It’s balancing. Also there isn’t really anything they could add that’s not gamebreaking unless I’m missing something.
So lets give the Su-30SM a fake weapon because it turns a little worse than a Typhoon
But give the Typhoon a variant of the Brimstone it never used and then nerf that variant into an unrecognisable state
BRIMSTONE 2
THE BRIMSTONE IT ACTUALLY USED
Again. Why does the Su-30 need a paper weapon that NOTHING is even close to matching in terms of performance, with equals like the Brismtone 2 and AGM-84 SLAM not added to the game AND to the same nation with the ONLY truly effective top tier SPAA.
You’re mixing up two lines for reasoning there, if the Su-30SM “needs” the KH-38MT is disconnected from how realistic that weapon is.
Sure, maybe that would work, but they’re probably just saving it up for later, it’s not like there’s many things that can be added left. The Brimstone I also does pretty well already from what I’ve seen.
Dont confuse the Brimstone 1 being a “good” weapon with mostly German Pilots who have made the Tornado ASSTA1 work for the past 2 years against Pantsirs, and ARH CAP with only GBUs doing well in the Typhoon with largely the same weapon.
Britain and Italy also still have a lot of latent experience doing the same.
Personally I prefer just running PW4s on the Typhoon, I find the Brimstone 1s more hassle than its worth, especially as they rarely 1 hit kill.
Just as a final nail in the coffin, They are even denying the Brimstone 1 its IRL kinematic performance (Report)
I think I lost a few numbers. We could get cluster bombs too. Those would be neat. Also the thingos the Tupolev bomber carries on the silly rotating drum. Which I may have listed but I am unsure of.
I am pretty sure there are some others similar to what we have, but you’re gonna have to cut me some slack. I can’t remember all the Russian numbers, they didn’t bother to keep them ordered 😿
For the context of GRB there would be little to no difference between Brimstone II and III if I’m not mistaken.
That’s a balancing and gameplay decision that’s holding back quite a few systems currently, most notably the AH-64D.
Nothing I think, unless someone finds a picture of an LMUR glued to a plane. If there’s nothing coming later I can see them adding the KH-38MT so it can be “king of IR AGMs” for a while before the meta moves past it.
What good players can do with a given weapon system is a pretty good indicator of its capabilities I think. What else would you judge balancing on?
