The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

Genuinely confused as to why this missile was added if theres such little information about it.

Dont really care about how it performs in game, I find all top tier cas to be a pain in the ass, however wheres the proof its an actual real missile

and if it cant be proved then they either need to remove it, or bring stuff like brimstone 2 in with some form of FnF

It’s the way they censor on this forum. not new. If a group disagrees they flag it and it gets removed.

Did anyone tell the people building radar and optical telescopes that the diffraction limit is apparently not a limit anymore? I’m sure they’d like to know, they can save billions if they no longer need those ridiculously big mirrors/radar reflectors.

That would still require LOAL, and the target selection would no longer require relevant user input, the radar does all of that for you.

It’s a great example to point out the hypocrisy some people display, especially since the guy I replied to wants the KH-38MT removed while at the same time asking for an implementation of the Brimstone that breaks physics.

Yeah. I have no idea what they were thinking.

But I do think that ontop of the lack of evidence for it, why it was ever added to begin with just on the grounds of balance is really wierd. Especially when the soviets were also the only nation with meaningful SAM defence as well and the closest thing to an equal is the AASM which was added 9 months later.

and they wont even add SAL-Brimstone 2s which would at least match the performance of a KH-38ML.

All their talk of “loadouts are a balancing tool” the KH-38MT raises a lot of questions. Then when you find out it was likely a paper weapon and their total refusal for even a placeholder seeker for the Brimstone or AGM-114L… Is just infuriating

because its more common to bring typhoon to top tier than a tornado as the tornado is lacking in a lot of places compared to a much superior platform that is EF.

No, not all the way back then. What happened is that ASSTA1 had only GBU16 and GBU24 paveways available to it as a form of A2G ordinance. With the Firebirds update it has received a new modification in its modification tree which was an “upgrade” to ASSTA3, all this did was that it let the ASSTA1 (now technically ASSTA3) use 6 small LJDAMs instead of only the paveways that were available.

not a lot of aircrafts use them. Bundeswehr uses them a fair bit which you can read about here. I dont really know why the typhoon has them as its mainly used by tornado but ill just chuck it up to the gaijins decision to unify the typhoon A2G ordinance that they have decided on when they added EFT into the game.

Are you claiming the Brimstone doesnt exist?

What? the brimstone missile IRL is one hell of a missile, in game its essentially a useless missile compared to the likes of even a maverick.

The KH38MT seems like it didn’t even exist.
bit of a massive distinction there mate.

N btw where u getting a 3km range for it from?

Hes claiming it has to break physics to be FnF essentially.
When IRL its got about a 30km range on a non moving target and it says on the munitions page for it about 12km for moving. sooo

Yup, I cant wait for them to get even 10% of their IRL performance

It was a balancing tool on the SU25B3 not on a damn su30 or su34 xD
they would be more than fine with KH29Ts is it? the ones found on the Su39 and event su 25.
As well as on the SU22.

the brimstone as was said back when it was added is near useless compared to hte P4’s and Jdams on the typhoon.
Just gonn aaccept it.

Like I gotta accept ima be 0.3 BR below the T72AV turms with L23 ammo xD

The lack of evidence to say its real is the major annoying thing here though.

Why add it , if it cant even be proven to be real

Youll be waiting some time mate.

lots of flags and deletions

No, of course not. The Brimstone exists with LOAL functionality, which is necessary for it to work as the mmW radar can only acquire targets at comparatively short ranges. Cut out the LOAL functionality and you end up with something that has no useable range. The “FnF only, no LOAL” version of the missile people are asking for is thus either useless (very short range) or physically impossible (hard lock at ranges the radar can’t possibly manage).

By plugging wavelength and maximum possible radar reflector diameter into the formula used to determine the diffraction limit of optical and radar systems.

Ight’ let’s sort this out:

Who here has used the Kh-38MT?

  • Have used
  • Have not used
0 voters

If you have used it, would you want it to stay or go based on evidence provided in this thread?
ONLY VOTE ON POLL 2 IF YOU HAVE USED THE Kh-38MT
also vote on poll 1 first so I can better track of people who have voted.

  • Keep it
  • Remove it
0 voters

edit: 2 people voted to have it gone but didn’t vote that they’ve used it on poll 1 and its hurting me T-T

edit 2: only 15 people (as of 1:39 pm CST 4/23/25) have said that they have used the Kh-38MT, so there should only be 15 votes on poll 2, but there are 22 votes, so whoever those extra 7 votes are, sort your stuff out.

okay how Brimstone break physics can you prove that?
far as people know LOAL brimstone is real compared to KH-38MT
and there are picture of it being carry by
Harrier
Tornado
EFT
even test fire by Apache

go ahead and explain how brimstone breaks physics lmao

What “wavelength” we going for here? cause radar wavelengths can vary from 0,1mm to over 1m

You can either have a decent discussion, and not be a wido or not.

I have the radar size here from the missile however I wasn’t able to find the exact frequency of the radar waves.

even with LOAL that still makes 0 sense it would not effect the range of hte radar reflector all it does mean is it can lock after its launching.

Go read the entire conversation. I didn’t say anywhere that the Brimstone breaks physics.

Asking me that takes longer than just googling it. The Brimstone uses a 94 GHz mmW radar. Do you need the diameter too or can you find that on your own?
