How so?
Is it because you can change targets mid launch?
Cause it can launch from 30km and guide from that distance, while the Kh-38MT uses a copy-paste AGM-64D sensor in-game so it’s limited to around 14km tracking range.
By the by, anyone claiming I have a photo of Kh-38MT is lying with malicious intent.
I have no photo, I’ve never had a photo, and I’ve never in my life claimed to have a photo.

There is currently no evidence of Kh-38MT existing in a functional state, either photographic or video.
I would like to see evidence of a functional missile.
I have no skin in the game for Kh-38MT being in the game or not, I will not oppose removal.

Now, that only makes the missile itself more OP, it doesn’t necessarily make the situation “amazing”, as ground RB is dynamic.
Probably, it’s hard to do testing of laser munitions for me either due to skill issue on my end or the 30km game-restriction just hating me.
Thats the thing with the laser changes, now everyone can target from 30km out (TGP and render settings permitting) in practice theres only a few weapons that can actually capitalise.
The missiles current version probably should be removed/reworked so it would be more balanced

Would that be enaugh for the missile to be more balanced.
probably wouldnt change much because closing from 15km to 6-8km only takes it a couple of seconds

I agreee. the missiles speed is also in my oppinion the main issue, since when playing AA you will die before your missile hits the plane even if you launched before the plane.
But like the Hammer IR that have the “Wonky” seeker that sometimes fails to lock further away would this make that the missile would miss more. TBH that is a horrible way to balance since its more luck than skill but we need atleast something since currect situation is horrible.
when it’s set up correctly, it will really work, but right now it’s a pathetic sight.

But yeah, you “won’t” [It’ll be almost exclusively if not exclusively renders] find AGM-65Ds on AV-8B+ cause the Marines don’t use IR guided weapons anymore., or even F-18E tho I haven’t looked for images of F-18E yet.
It’s all laser.
At some stage you have to trust manufacturers of the missiles themselves, and the fire control system manuals of aircraft.

Well, after spending 2 study halls reading this, (my head hurts T-T), I agree there is insufficient proof for proving the full existence of the Kh-38MT(E), but due to the nature of how things are, it is unlikely to be removed from game.

more like KH38mt may have existed as a prototype and may or may not been tested but never entered service and most likely the program has stopped
also that there is no evidence that any platform in game could use it

Essentially 75% of the missile has been used in combat (since the kh-38 family is modular) the last 25% we have seen on display at least once in 2017 despite the author of the threads claims that whats on display is a ML (despite not having any of the identifying features of a Russian Laser guided weapon), and is likely not in production as the only real application for IR agms is AShM which is already widely covered by the KH-59 family of weapons. Testing etc we cant talk to as we have no documents to date. As for its inclusion in the game its already in might as well leave it. Mostly cause the can of worms it would open is not worth it cause it will have knock on affects on at least hammer but likely also on mavs too, to a degree.
