The Kh-38MT may not actually exist

@MythicPi are you going to create a bug report as well?

What would be the replacement then?
Kh-29TDs are good enough I assume? (Though they are inferior to the Hammer in more than one way)

MLE seeker looking upward, the whole it sags because its a gyro isn’t a thing.

No, because the X-38MT is a real missile.

I don’t know what you are trying to say with this document, please provide explanations together with your posts.

I’m assuming you are trying to say that it can angle and therefore isn’t centered?
But that wouldn’t make sense as the thing at the top we see (according to you) would be the inner ring, and why would the seeker not be “centered” in the inner ring (aligned with the center point of the sphere the gimbal rotates around)?

So ive been looking for pictures of russian laser guided seeker heads and i couldnt find a good close up picture of the Kh29Ls (this would be the closest predecesor) but i did manage to find a pretty high def close up of Kh25ML here which looks really pretty. Apart from the fence-mesh on the glass the inside of the seeker looks very similar to the provided picture:

both the Kh25ML and the unknown Kh38ME look extremely similar and ill leave it up to people here to decide if the circular part aiming upwards is a laser seeker head (that would be my armchair general opinion) or if its a gyroscope

Thank you, thats a much better photo. Yes I now agree that top section is part of the gryo.

Well, I said right away that this is part of a hyposcope, and the seeker is tilted down

Apologies, but it simply was not clearly visible. Per your new photo you are ofcourse correct.

Well, this started because it turns out that the Hammer likely can’t track moving targets and should just have a terminal IIR seeker like that found on the Storm Shadow. Meaning the Rafales best weapon vs moving targets would be the laser guided version not the IIR version.

meaning the best top tier IIR FnF AGM would probably go back to being the AGM-65 or the PGM

MythicPi was curious about the KH-38 and whether it should be largely the same but couldnt find information on the IIR seeker

So KH38MT is real ?

There was a mockup of it for sure

What about Kh-29TD / Kh-29TE?

That mockup appears to have a seeker with a lens in it, so there was certainly a seeker of some kind at some point.
