So the same BR as the IS2? Which has worse optics, slower reload, less pen and less armor? Sure it has a turret, but also come with a lousy -3 gun depression.
Not sure how you can justify lowering it to same BR as the Jagdpanther, also a casemate. It’s better mobility only goes so far as it would also be terrible in CQC battles.
There’s also the option of giving the Jadgtiger the Maus treatment. Just remove it from the TT and give ppl who already bought it an option to refund it.
Yep, you’re correct. It’s fine at 6.7. It should not go up nor down.
If it has a performance problem (I don’t know if that’s the case, just hypothetically) simply lower the reload a little. There is absolutely no need for it to be 6.3 or 7.0 under the current state of compression.
I’m not saying it SHOULD be lowered in BR, I’m saying if it’s to undergo any BR changes, it should be going down, not up, due to the sheer amount of APDS and HEAT/FS it faces that nullifies it. Jagdtiger should be THE casemate of the game, one you absolutely have to flank or TBT to kill.
If you get used to aiming with a specific tank, you can actually pretty reliably shoot the MG port on the hull. If they’re using bushes you can sometimes .50 cal them off to get a quick shot at it. I’m able to do it often with the T29 and T34, at 7.0 and 6.7 respectively. I’ve even done it with the M26’s 90mm before. Almost every 6.7 tank has enough firepower to punch through that MG port at least at a head-on angle within 200 meters, which is most engagements with the Jagdtiger. If you have enough pen, you can also shoot the very top or very bottom of the lower part of the front plate. This will destroy the transmission easily, allowing you to flank them or at least get out of the limited turning range of their gun barrel.
Also in the case of the M36 or M46, HEATFS can shoot through the upper front plate as well as the sides of the turret effectively as well. Primary ammo storage is in the hull, but if the Jagdtiger player brought more than 12 rounds then there should be ammo on your right in their turret if you’re facing them head-on.
Hope this helps!
Also most Germany players think “bigger gun equals better,” and take the Jagdtiger over the Ferdinand. But part of becoming a veteran Germany player is realizing the Ferdinand is actually even better than the Jagdtiger.
Yep. It’s rhe most situational of those factors. I would add targeting speed among the most important ones, and the Jagdtiger sucks at that too.
Especially after the mobility nerf.
As always, non experienced players focus on the big numbers - pen and frontal armour - and not on the various factors that make a vehicle competitive or not.
I love the Jagdtiger to bits, but it’s exceedingly rarely a meta spawn option in this game.
