What could be used as premium CAS at 6BR for GRB? Any Ideas?
They have many they could add. Israel has dabbled with vehicles such as the Eitan and Carmel.
In terms of a full-blown Light Tank Line, it’s perfectly possible.
For example, it could go like this.
M24 60mm HVMS (made by Israel, upgraded for Chile)
M113 60mm HVMS
PT-76-2000
M41 60mm HVMS (similar story to the Chaffee, I think)
BMP-1 (without Missile similar to Sweden’s BMP)
Carmel
M113 SAMSON RCWS-30
Achzarit SAMSON RCWS-30
Namer SAMSON RCWS-30 (currently implemented)
Namer SAMSON Mk.2 RCWS-30 with Trophy APS
Eitan SAMSON Mk.2 RCWS-30 with Iron Fist APS
The vehicles do exist. And there are many more I haven’t listed/know about. As of currently, this is my dream Light Tank Line for Israel.
I was writing about the period between independence and the intifadas when the IDF armored corps preferred the heaviest MBTs it could get its hands on. It had some light tanks, but the vast majority of its force was MBTs. It was only when they had to respond to insurgent warfare that the developed light wheeled AFVs.
Some of the stuff you show are just captured equipment in the museum. Also don’t confuse what they produced as commercial ventures with that the Israelis developed for themselves.
The Vehicles are exported by Nimda, which is based in Israel. They are Israeli Exports made by Israel for other countries.
This all smacks of desperation to fill gaps.Is there no better way? I mean the way the M51 was done was ground breaking ,I cant think of where that was done previously .It did allow me to play Israel only having one tank.
It worked well for me and meant they didn’t fill the 6BR with any old fantasy crap.
Sure I can see the gaps and that Israel needs work but at least it was a different way to address the issue.
I wish they would repeat the M51 in other tech trees rather than just use dodgy copy paste and semi fantasy vehicles.
The problem is that Israel has a majority of the vehicles Gaijin choose to add in the same BR range because they are the most famous recognizable ones. But it leaves several orphans and incomplete lineups but a huge glut around 8.0.
I hope they don’t do this with any other trees they create/spin off. I really didn’t like having to “bootstrap” with just the M51 and nothing to go with it, ‘cause the TCM isn’t much help and at the time the next vehicle down was the AMX which drags the poor ol’ Sherman to 6.7.
If you are going to give someone a tech tree, give them a tech tree starting from a 1.0 reserve. They could have done so with Israel, even if it was mostly copypasta.
I sort of agree but I wonder why they bother to even do these nations knowing full well they wont have any where near a complete line up and they keep doing it.
In all tech trees, the same thing happens. I mean, all national tech trees have domestically developed technology and imported technology. With the clear exception of the USA and the USSR.
One of the strengths of Israel’s military technology industry is the development of components that allow revitalizing old vehicles. That is the identity of Israeli TT: “remastered” old tanks, with the clear exception of the Merkava, which is the main attraction.
All Israeli export technology should be in the Israeli TT, if the nation that buys this technology does not exist in the game (for example, as happened with the KF41).
Because it sells.
It is for this reason that, after the Israeli experience, Gaijin decided to stop implementing new tech trees and started giving sub-trees to minor nations.
At this point, Israel is the nation most urgently in need of a sub-tree. The Namer really brought life back to the tech tree, a tree that the “Drone Age” update hadn’t yet reached. I hope it is now Israel’s turn to start receiving some love.
I think something changed for sure but I think the issue must have been recognized before the implementation the Israel tree because the Israel tree started at 6 BR ,unprecedented up to that point.
I wonder at what point they realized they screwed up ? UK? France ,Italy Japan?
So many gaps and so many drastic attempts at filler with varied success.
Exactly, as you are saying, they realized it earlier. I meant that Israel was the last nation to be added.
I think they realized it when they saw that the vehicles from the USA, USSR, and Germany were not “unlimited.” Expanding the game horizontally was to be expected. At this point, they are ensuring to give two or three sub-nations to each main TT to avoid running out of content (content that is the fuel for each major update, which in turn is the sales engine).
@Gunjob Excuse me, I have written an error report for MerkavaMK4, could you please help me submit it?
Mercava MK4(ALL)has the wrong armor material and protection in t // Gaijin.net // Issues
Supplement: This report concludes that SLERA is used on Mercava 4 based on the technical characteristics of SLERA displayed by IAV2021 and the combined analysis of damaged photos of the Mercava 4 armoured module, so it is wrong to use NERA in Mercava 4 in the game, not to say that it must be modified to Shield KE shown by IAV2021.
The only source worth considering in that report was a presentation at IAV2021, but the Armor Shield KE mentioned in that presentation has not yet been purchased by the IDF.
Therefore, this report cannot be passed.
And internal report already exists for this. But previous internal report was also based on the same IAV2021, so I edited it with the new source.
Atleast the Zachlam is cool.
My report which I believe you referenced, uses IAV 2021 presentation as a supporting element, not as primary evidence - which in this case would be visual footage showing existing armor modules with the inscription “explosive”.
No, your report is linked so that users can check the progress of internal reports.
There was an internal report before you wrote that report and that internal report referenced IAV2021 as its primary source.
Wait so now the entire issue of the Merkava’s armor is linked directly to the IAV 2021 presentation instead of the other evidence?
Also your comment in that bug report that the ASPRO-KE was not purchased by the IDF is not confirmed. Defense website israeldefense inquired about the purchase but the IDF could neither confirm nor deny. We don’t know if it was purchased.
We do know that:
- Front armor on the Merkava differs from side armor.
- Rafael is a contractor for armor solutions for the IDF and Merkava.
- Commercial and custom made products may differ.
- Stated mass of the Merkava 4 rose sharply in recent years with no apparent visual changes.
- Armor modules differ in construction depending on year of production.
Not much more to say here, but the previous internal report was based on IAV 2021 presentation and the IDF has not yet purchased the Armor Shield KE, so the report has been rewritten based on new sources.
And the weight increase isn’t just due to the change the armor, the developers noted that the additional weight is due to other elements such as the mine protection kit.
Yeah but the mine protection kit doesn’t weigh 15 tons.
