The IS3 needs to move from 7.3 to 7.0

not every tank should be able to kill everything from the front at their respective BRs. Not being able to kill either the most armored american heavy tank or the heaviest german tank of all time is perfectly fine. You’re still really annoying to kill and pretty mobile all things considered. Most tanks shooting HEAT at you are cold wars tanks with paper thin armor compared to you. IS-3 is fine as is.

But for you, it’s okay for an IS1 to face a Tiger 2H head-on and literally not be able to penetrate it in basically any location? Right? (even shooting at the only weak point, which is the machine gun, is difficult to penetrate with its 148mm armor penetration). It seems that you are playing at a level where your nation is very comfortable with great penetration, good reload time and great armor and doesn’t want more competition. A Tiger 1 or Panther has a better chance of destroying an IS3 head-on than a T34-85 or IS1 has a chance of destroying a Tiger 2H, Jagdpanther, Jagdtiger, Ferdnand… But you are totally comfortable and don’t want your favorite nation to have difficulty against other tanks like they themselves suffer against your favorite nation.

No it is not, 7.0 is your ideal and 7.3 should be the IS4.

“Oh, look at that appeal, a tank piercing 148mm in 6.7 can only destroy my heavy tank in a very specific point of my tank. Why couldn’t I also play against an IS3 having the same small chance of piercing it using my Tiger 1 and Panther? Oh no, only my nation can have the most armored against tanks that have almost no chance of destroying them from the front” Even though a Tiger 1 and Panther have more chances of penetrating an IS3 from the front than a T44 has chances of destroying a Tiger 2H from the front.

OMG repeating the same over and over again.
I play usually 4 nations !!!

Ideal only for russian fanboys…

Ok Mr. “Jagd” I realize that Germany is not your favorite nation. But why don’t you address the point that I have been repeating for several texts? That an IS1, T34-85, T44 have less chance of penetrating a Tiger 2H, Jagdpanther, Jadgtiger, Ferdnand from the front, than a Tiger 1 or Panther or Lekpz have of penetrating an IS3 in its frontal armor? Playing with a Tiger 1 or Panther against an IS2 it is very easy to destroy this tank head-on, however even with the very high reload time and meme armor it still penetrates the vast majority of tanks in its BR (5.3, 5.7, 6.0, 6.3) head-on. However, the IS3 has the same cannon and falls against much more armored enemies. At this moment it can only penetrate tanks of 6.7 and above in some very specific points in the frontal armor of the tanks (we are talking about medium and heavy tanks) and its high reload time with average penetration no longer makes sense in this tier. If it took 25 seconds to penetrate at least 270mm it would be fair, however waiting 25 seconds to penetrate the same thing that most tanks do in less than 10 seconds no longer makes sense in this tier.

this is the first bad take I’ve seen you have. The t-44 does not belong at 6.7, it literally cannot pen any of the 6.7 heavy’s, no being able to pen cupolas is not a good enough justification for it being there, the t-44-100 is fine at 7.0, the is-3 should also stay at 7.3, if they were to decompress the br’s then it would be nice for it to not see as many darts.

That’s not what I said at all. Maybe re-read my post.

This is the 2nd ongoing thread for the exact same topic.

lol just shot the gun and see how helpless there are, since they lack an hmg to track you…
and again why comparing a medium tank to a heavy tank?

of course it does - the wiesel / Luchs is 7.3 and cant kill any heavys at all

three of these are heavy turretless TDs.

Nope. You’re asking to be invulnerable in downtiers. Not going to happen bud.

yet again, the panther, tiger, US 90mm, and nearly every other gun used at 6.0+ can pen the driver hatch of the is3. Its a weak spot that cannot be hidden due to its proximity to the main gun. The IS3 is FAR from invulnerable and would not be even if it sat at 7.0.

Extremely small, hard to hit weakspot. Does not change anything.

Seriously, what do you expect from a heavy tank in a full downteir? To have gaping wide vulnerabilities? What is the point of armor if you aren’t able to make even FULL DOWNTEIRS have to aim?

There are many, many vehicles at 6.7 and even higher that can only penetrate the IS-3 in this small ass weakspot.

You mean the tanks with FAR more mobility, actual gun depression, <8s reloads? Yeah, again, this is what a heavy tank is. How many of those vehicles pen a T32 frontally anywhere? Again, you are facing a tank with a 20+s reload, poor velocity, and one of the largest muzzle breaks in WT. If you can’t pen the driver hatch, shoot for the muzzle break and hes 50+s repairing. Or hell, you missed the gun and hit the lower mantlet… which deflects into the driver hatch. The weak point is that whole area. It is SO EASY to punish even the best IS3 players. There are so many deficiencies with the tank that add to a tank that is nearly never played at the moment because its just bad. I see about 3x the T44-100s as i do IS3s and for good reason.

No, I mean like literally any tank not using HEAT or very high caliber guns will require that weakspot. I’m sure you can use your noggin to imagine the giant dozens of vehicles that fall under this category.

… again, what do you think the point of armor is. What do you think the counter for a jumbo is at 4.3? shoot the MG port. What do you think the counter for a T95 is at 6.0? shoot the commander hatch. What do you think the counter for a tortoise is at 5.7? Shoot the MG port. Nearly every tank we have in this game that is considered armored has a weak point that is pennable 1.0 under itself while having almost no other area that is. We have dozens of examples. Why is the IS3 the one you care about?
