Hello, I hope you all are doing well.
I wanted to share some thoughts on the recent ground map changes, especially concerning the Eastern Europe map. To be honest, these changes are quite disappointing. The maps now feel like something out of Call of Duty—stale, small, and with almost no room for tactical play. It’s frustrating because War Thunder has always emphasized tactics and flanking strategies in their youtube videos, yet these new map designs seem to contradict that philosophy.
Ground battles used to stand out from air battles because of the strategic depth they offered. You could explore different routes, set up ambushes, it felt rewarding. But with these new, more confined maps changes, that experience is quickly fading away. The maps are becoming monotonous, and I’m worried that ground battles will soon lose the depth that made them so enjoyable in the first place.
Gaijin, why are you doing this to your maps? Players don’t want maps that feel like they belong in Clash Royale—tiny and restrictive. What’s the point of having advanced technology and top-tier vehicles if we’re all going to be engaging each other at a maximum distance of 300 meters?
Please reconsider these changes. War Thunder’s ground battles have always been about more than just brain dead gameplay. Don’t take that away from the players who love this game for those very reasons.
Lastly, with all the dangerous and weird stuff happening in the world right now, I just want to say stay safe, everyone. Take care of yourselves and each other :)
