The German La-5FN Temporarily Returns to Mark the La-5’s First Flight!

On March 21st 1942, the La-5 — a Soviet plane capable of fighting the Germans on equal terms — took to the skies for the first time. It quickly became one of the main aircraft that defended Soviet skies. In September 1944, Germany captured a fully functional La-5FN and studied it at Rechlin airfield.

The La-5FN (Germany) is temporarily available for Golden Eagles!

In honor of the La-5’s first flight, the premium German La-5FN is available for 5,250 Golden Eagles.

When: From March 21st (11:00 GMT) until March 24th (11:00 GMT).

Where: Germany > Aviation > Premium vehicles.

About this aircraft

  • The La-5FN got its name from the more powerful M-82FN engine installed in this modification of the aircraft. The La-5FN is slightly slower than the German Fw 190 A and Bf 109 G, but demonstrates great flight characteristics at low altitudes. For weaponry, this aircraft features two 20 mm ShVAK cannons with 340 rounds, great for taking out enemy aircraft.

why do certain nations get captured vehicles when they have more than enough vehicles to fill that gap when others don’t get such luxury?

Im running out of arms and legs to sell.

Well they don’t really do captured vehicles any more. The La-5 was added a long time ago.

“Honorable GE price”

Always seems strange the German La-5FN is the special plane for the celebration of the Soviet La-5 first flight… but, the La–5FN is a really good fun plane. Versatile and quite the all-rounder.

Nothing more honorable than charging more than 25 € for a rank 3 plane (roughly 300% more than other rank 3 planes btw.)

5,250 GE for a rank 3 plane without CAS ordinance ?? really?? meanwhile in the Soviet tree you can find excelent fighter planes with very good CAS choice for less than 2,000 GE.
No thanks!

yeah all the “temporary available” vehicles go for almost 3 times the GE cost of the other vehicles of the same rank

Thats right. I can’t remember any new additions of Beute units since many, many years.

But, tbh… Today its worse with subtree imports, test and evaluation units etc. there are nations who got most of their lineup duped and added elsewhere. Even top tier units. Its far worse than it was with captured / Beure vehicles in the past.

Did they not just add a captured French vehicle to the Deutsch tree this update? Or a few months ago the same French vehicle with the short 50mm? What are you talking about?

Both are modified by germany with german guns. It is unique like the KV-1C. The french version is the german modified version captured and is more a captured vehicle than the german version

It is still a captured vehicle and would be silly to say it isnt when it is. Im just happy gaijin decided to add them after germany mounted different guns instead of pure copy paste but they are still captured.

Thats different. Its not a singular captured tank.

After France surrendered, Ger just integrated some of the french army equipment into their ranks. In case of that addition they even refitted them with german guns to enhance the combat value.

Same happens to the Panzer 38t. After Czechoslovakia surrendered, they just integrated it into German army. Same also happened after Fall Achse, as Germany occupied Italy and took over alot italian equipment.

Im just saying they still are captured vehicles. And imo the best example of captured vehicles because they are unique. Gaijin definitely has been adding captured vehicles in recent years but it seems they are trying to add them to nations without actual options for standard TT fillers. The new mini puma fills the gap the puma originally did when it was 2.7 now for something at 5.x

So all marders are captured vehicles aswell or all tanks based on the pz38? All these tanks are heavily modified and I would claim the new pak car aswell because of the new turret

Technically they are captured still. Thats what they were if the chassis were used. Its just a differing opinion on our views of captured vehicles.

This is technically seen wrong as there is not a single 3.7 fighter in the German TT. The event Bv 155 at 3.7 needs a very specific play style to make it work - whilst using anything with center mounted 20 mm ShVaks guarantees kills at these BRs.

Imho a 109 F-2 with the Galland modification (replacing the 7,92 with 2 13 mm MG 131 at a BR of 3.7 and with rank III would be a great event fighter.

But i expect that we will see sooner or later another P-51 B/C clone:

Its not. Its an official unit of the German Wehrmacht, taken from french depots to the dozens and put into a plant to refit them.

Its a difference when a few guys recover an abanonded enemy tank and use it within their unit until it breaks down.
