The Developers do update the Game / Graphics Engine from time to time, there have been at least 2 Game / Graphics Engine updates in the past as it is, and we are currently on Dagor 6.5
And not to mentioned Graphics updates in content update and or other patches in between
As I mentioned, we are sitting on Dagor 6.5, which means there are bound to be more Graphic Engine updates to keep War Thunder up to current gaming standards
And yes, Developers wants to include as many players as much as possible… but, the Developers also update their minimum gaming standards as well, in fact I think my 1070 Ti… is now on the minimum standards… so I really need to think about updating my machine at some point :P
Ryzen 5 2600 + AMD RX 580, 16 GB RAM here, playing on 2560x1080 with stable 60 FPS on high details settings…
What exactly do you call a “decent PC”…???
Basically what you have there is decent, 16gb ram, 6 core hyperthreaded CPU, a decent GPU with 8gb vram. That is a decent gaming rig. Not everyone can afford something like that.
This is on the highest video settings with everything maxed out (not using the High-Resolution Pack) on an RTX 3060 12GB.
Do you see the blurry water?
Now, at approximately 200 meters away, the game looks like it’s being played on ULQ.
The graphics up close are okayish at best for modern standards. I don’t mind them and find them good enough for me, but saying they are beautiful is just wrong.
Yeah, and I suspect we will see them slowly pushed out. Its good that they still have this support, though, and it definitely lets me play WT myself. (Only 8GB ram moment)
A lot of people also discount that having a bad monitor makes it a lot harder to see things in RB (its actually one of the reasons I play AB)
WT being so accessible to low-end hardware is amazing, and the ability to customize your graphics settings to how you want to play is something I will always want to have in WT.
Idk man,i have 8GB RAM,i5 i think 7 series,1060,all laptop, cant get stable 60 fps when there is some action ig even at low. And in naval the fps gets down to 5-10 even on ULQ when ships start firing AA.
Top one with USA is in Arcade, bottom with China is RB.
And as i said i have all my Video-Settings maxed out, the only thing i have disabled is Lens-Flare (the Physics / tire-track Stuff is maxed as well) but for some Reason i cannot change my Render Resolution as i just noticed its on lowest and greyed out
Well, I’m not using SSAA, but it doesn’t make much of a difference aside from dropping my FPS from 144 down to 50-60, which I find very poorly optimized (or whatever it is called). My PC can handle other more modern games maxed out just fine at 144FPS, so I doubt it’s my rig.
I cant help you there im afraid… tends to be something that has been enabled / disabled that greys things out and or sets things automatically to low settings… You could PM a Tech Mod they may know more about it
You mean people abusing ULQ is beneficial to the game?
Or the inability to expand tech trees because subtrees don’t fit on the screen with lower resolution?
The game is literally being held back to cater to these people.
Nobody is saying the game shouldn’t be accessible, but there should be a limit to how far you extend that when the game is being held back in order to do so.
