The future of War Thunder on console

Hello guys, as you know xbox will be releasing a new console next year, xbox will now include third party game distributions such as steam, battle net, etc. So my question is how will gajin conduct sales since xbox players will have access to the steam store. Secondly, will xbox players have access to the gajin market?
Kind regards

It would depend on how compatible the platforms are and how willing the companies (microsoft, Gaijin, Steam) are to cooperate.
I guess you’d have to get a new console in order to get access to everything. Spend who knows how much just to be able to make more purchases.

I hope Gaijin will give us the ability to play Sim and Realistic with Crossplay disabled

2026 or 2027? I haven’t seen an official announcement.

They said that they’d allow other stores but they didn’t say that you’ll be able to play your existing Steam games, or even if Steam would be allowed or not. Possibly in some very small way, yes. But it might not include Steam, it might be Google Play or Epic Games.

I don’t understand how Microsoft would make any money if we could access the Gaijin store and buy things at a massive discount. What would Microsoft do, just stop selling War Thunder add-ons through Xbox’s own store? Why would they do that.

There’s a lot of disinformation being spread by people in their twenties on Reddit, they keep saying that the next xbox will be “more like a PC” but the same was said in 2001. The first xbox had a standard PC disk drive and standard hard drive. Normal PC components. The suggestion that Xbox will run Windows 11 is hilarious, how will they run it on 2GB of RAM or even 4GB of RAM? Unless they want to double the price of the new system. Xbox Series S struggles to even run the homescreen and Edge at the same time. It has to close one to open the other.

AFAIK it is not Gaijin you should be worried about…but Microsoft. Gaijin would love to be able to use only its own market and don’t have to give Microsoft (and Sony) a cut on each sale…
I am not optimistic (but i don’t have a Xbox anyway)…Microsoft will not relinquish revenue easily…and they will make rules to ensure that…

IF i had to guess…you will get more purchase options…but it will be the same with different interfaces…and you will be lucky if you get more options…and it won’t be the Gaijin store…

I’m pretty sure they’re releasing it in 2027, tho we’ll probably get a reveal next year (2026 is Xbox’s 25th anniversary)
