Once again im telling you that the f-5c is extremely situational, it’s good at what it is: high speed rate fighting mig21s. Is air RB about high speed rate fighting mig21s? No. It’s about slinging missiles while staying fast. Can the f-5c sling missiles? Yes, but even a boeing 747 can dodge them without flares. Is the f-5c fast? no. Analogy: Zero. Good dogfighter, nobody dogfights it.

for the same reason the folks will say “airbus is better than boeing” when airbus and boeing have their own equally big sack of junk like boeing aircraft falling off fresh from the factory and hundreds of people dying of hypoxia in airbus aircraft every day. Or why Apple is better than Android when it has been demonstrated over and over that Android phones have higher raw performance despite their flawed operative system, or why people say sony alpha cameras are better than nikon despite all Sony has over Nikon is resolution where nikon cameras are usually thrice as fast to focus and to shoot burst for the same price.

s four times as much as the f.-5c, but nobody talks about it. But you forget defyn says “take this with a grain of salt because it’s just my opinion”.
Donut with moustache happened to accidentally struggle aiming that thing while he was saying “the nose authority is amazing”, happened to say “the damage model is insane” while one shot destroying other f-5s and showing complaints not newer than 4 years ago about it’s busted DM, and “the m39s are goated and have insane reach” while showing how they despawn after 1km, lose all speed and dealing little damage and fires to enemies. I call that the “spit flyer effect”.
Also, saying F-5C is no longer good doesn’t mean the f-5c is bad on it’s own, i’ts just that it doesn’t fit the meta anymore when missile slingers superior to the mig21 took over both contenders.

this were the avaiable planes and mostly the F-5 and Kfir were flown
i think people expect too much of it, its the first supersonic fighter so people have high hopes, but its also the first of its kind and is very flawed
tbf a tournament or 1v1 doesnt really reflect what ARB is.
unless tournaments are 12v12 or 16v16

it really isnt, being reliably backed up by someone you can communicate with has a big effect. some planes benefit from being backed up more than others
we have a person here that claims the 21SMT is better than the F-5 in every aspect yet they didnt pick the 21SMT even tho it is sooo much better
you have mig19, a32, g91y and f104 as first supersonics too and i tell ya… i need to tell ya nothing.
the a32 isnt a supersonic you will only reach mach in a dive

you mean me? because the f-5c in particular is premium and helps me get the money i need without spending an unhealthy amount of time in this game, simple as. Over 40 pecent of my time in this game is sitting in custom battle to chat with people every so often while the rest of the time war thunder custom battle is running in the background.
