I mean it is a common knowledge that a plane is harder to steer when essential control surfaces are missing. Basic science.
Anything else is not normal, but more a busted damage model. Fixing a broken damage model does not make a plane bad.
As example: The Hunter cant turn shit when 1 elevator is even damaged the slightest.
When you perform worse with a fixed damage model, I think you were relying too much on the crutch of a broken damage model.

For starters the f-4s are completely fine without the whole vertical stabilizer, unable to yaw, while the f-5s will waddle uncontrollably painfully dragging around, unable to surpass 340 kmh of airspeed.
Meanwhile drakens can lose both wingtips and the rudder and still fly fine. Even more so that we ignore that the j35xs is even tankier, has six aim9j’s and the flight model of the mirage 2000… at the same BR.
But nobody sees it because “sweden is minor nation” despite it has some of the best aircraft in the supersonic jet tiers.
The fact that it’s 2024 and people are still crying over something barely 10kmh faster than a mig19, a quarter of it’s thrust, the worst rank 7 missiles (two only, that will pull 35g’s to go for a flare they left behind) and rather underwhelming firepower and just as hot as any other afterburning aircraft (good enough to eat r60’s and magic 1’s even flaring) is baffling.
If you’re in a 10.3-11.3 fighter and die to f-5c on a daily basis, you also die to zeros on a daily basis. If you die to the f-5e constantly, you also die to N1K2’s.
it doesn’t have a tanky damage model. The only time i struggle killing it is with m39 cannons because these are underwhelming. I just aim to the rudder, it goes away instantly sending the f-5’s into an install stall. Tanky damage models are the drakens, which are literal fuel tanks engulfing an engine with no armor and they need at least two sparrow strikes to actually go down.
Its great for 10.3, but you will never not at least be 11.0 most games 11.3.
10.0 planes same boat. 9.7 seems to be a sweet spot.

Gaijin needs to stop making premiums all the same BR pretty much. That is what causes this. So many 11.0 and 11.3 premiums compared to everything else. A lot of the 10.0-10 7 premiums are ground strikers that are meme/misery to play in AR and since they are already spaded dont need to grind that for mods.

The staff told me that I said the F word too much (even if it’s for saying “for >F< sake!”) and a couple of anti-chinese gaming culture slander comments. They chat banned me for a year after getting chat banned over 15 times for spamming the F word. Had I been ACTUALLY toxic and racist I would have been chat banned permanently from the second go. Not until this time i knew that the F word was a reason to get chatbanned in this game.
No biggie, and i’m ok with the punishment. The only people I need to talk with are on discord, whatsapp and real life.

Some planes are more stable than others. But that’s no fault of the flight- or damage model, but the fault of the engineers who designed those aircraft.
Of course you will wobble around when the part that prevents it is missing.

no i just genuinely feel like something with a third of the engine power of the rest of 10.3’s, being transonic til 3km of altitude and having two of the worst missiles in game at a BR where everyone has four or more 18g+ missiles and a good engine is not good. You need people to actively want to die to you. If you think the f-5c is “cantsir” while consistenly ignoring that the mig21s and f8’s of even lower BR’s can easily terminate you while fitting air RB much more, then you seriously are still dying to zeroes on their own ranks while using any other fighter prop.
I have played both the F-5A and F-5E, both are amazing airframes out of the box, 10.3 was an insult of a BR when you have such incredible energy retention and guns, doing well is a matter of bringing 3/4 of a tank and committing to every headon you see, winning because of the velocity of the 20mms then being able to dogfight literally everything in the BR range and sometimes higher. I really don’t see where your complaints come from when the benefits of having a tiny airframe, cold engines, inaccurate flares, incredible guns and a bank of energy that is tapped into anywhere above 300 km/h

Nah, you did. F-5 fit the meta extremely well at 10.3 and was possibly the best 10.3.
I actually have no idea where i got it from, im ognna be honest with you. I think i just assumed it was double as it had 2. Its still cracked, or was. Now that its at 11.0 well have to see, but now it cant stomp down tiers, but i am far from saying it should be facing f16s, just like the j35xs which is now able to see such shit.
