I can’t aim f5 20mms, but can aim the 23.
So for all that it might be bait, some folk like me are just screwed up regarding our cannon preferences. Dunno why I aim better with it than the 20mms, they seem like they should be easier, but I have no luck.

Whats the issue with the 20s like? He also wasn’t talking about the aim he’s saying it takes hundreds of rounds to take out a mig21.

the american jet 20mm’s are the second worst, the worst 20m’s are mg151.
Also f-5s have a fragile damage model, while j8bs- f’s keep taking sparrows and not dying. A single 20mm hit on an f-5 is devastating, sets it on fire, removes the tail control and the engines. It’s a bad plane, and i can’t stop repeating it because it’s true: the people that die to f-5s still die to zeroes at 6.0. People are unaware of how stupidly easy it is to defeat f-5s by simply staying faster or slower than them.

How are they the second worst, theyre high velocity. They do reliable damage as well as over 500 rounds on them.
You are kidding ? The F5 had one of tbe most busted damage models in the game , more.so than the su25, and even then its still ridiculously strong now 😂

Meanwhile most of their other jets (with exception of F-8E, another good plane) are in the range 1 to 1.5 K/D.

I know! I checked their stats the other day in game and just laughed.
Dudes got about 3 really good jets and all use the “second worst guns” in the game.

just because i’m good in gunfighters doesn’t mean the plane is good. I’m also good in the sea fury and the n1k’s and still i think (as well as other players do share my “poopinion”) that these are dogshit planes.
I say that f-5s are terrible because not even good players killed me on “these planes the f-5 eats alive” according to this community.
The ironies are that “these three good jets” happen to be where the people that attempt to rebuttal my arguments happen to do far worse than on any other jets of the same BR range.
Its facing harrier 1s and older jets and aim 9L struggles to lock them, thermal presence is far too low compared to reality.

a good player knows his aircraft and if its not a one circle machine he will always force a two circle, getting 3rd partied is irrelevant to this
lack of awareness is skill issue. RWRs are valuable buy the mk1 eyeball is much more important
Radars are overrated anywhere but in sim, I fly with radar off 99% of the time because it is obsolete in how this game plays.
you are a dedicated fighter, not a strikecraft or multirole.

PL5 has no issues tracking it and ignoring it’s flares whenever it has to, especially on the f-5e since they come out of the belly and are very likely unseen if launched from top of the f-5e.

the chinese have some really damn good missiles around that BR, the PL5 is one of the few to cause me to crashout from how effective it can be.
top down launches are always the best no matter the target for gravitational assistance and a lower chance that the target saw you.
would say that the F5 is a better plane than the chinese fishbedsof that BR even with that mighty fox 2 and more reliable supersonic capabilities
the f-5s are not better planes. If you die to an f-5 it’s because you’re slow or rate fighting it. Go vertical if you have no chance, stay below their wingtips to play against their shit rudder.
I tend to do alright with most the jets within the BR range of the F5C that I’ve used. Statistically for ARB we are also extemely closely matched using stat shark as a reference point. You score an overall rating of 88.04 while.i sit slightly lower ar 85.48
The point is jets like your F5C sit with around a 3.0kD meanwhile jets like your mig21s are barely a 2.0KD.
Even the difference between the F5E and C is enormous

having high KD doesn’t tell whether a plane is good or not. I have 4KD on the sea fury, the n1k2j and the la-7B20 and they’re objectively not good. Maybe, the fact that I have higher KD on f-5c actually has to do with the fact I use the f-5c to grind and the mig21s to have fun.

Do you have any alternatives? sea harrier will die to anything that is not a sea harrier, the type of enemy doesn’t really matter.
Fun fact and slightly off topic
- We Brits had no problem kicking either F-5 or F-15 with SHAR in training exercises IRL
- But, Thanks to the overperforming FM of F-5. We can’t do the same in WT.
- SHAR in WT is no more than RP pinata as you know.
- While you complain about your F-5s everything.
