The F-104J should have a lower ground br than the F-104G

Right now, both the 104J and 104G are 10.0 in grb. The 104J is literally the same plane as the 104G, except it has the ordinance hardpoints removed and is incapable of carrying bombs. Considering how useful bombs are for a fighter in grb, the 104J ought to be at most 9.7, which would also let it fit well in ground lineups, as Japan has a huge gap feom 9.7 to 11.7

Why should the F-104J have lower battle rating than F-104G? Both are fighters, what are you expecting from a battle rating decrease in a plane that already don’t have bombs? What a fighter will be doing at lower battle rating even without bombs? Going after another air targets I suppose; I think it’s futile, won’t change anything to be honest. F-1 has bombs and ballistic computers and Alpha Jet E and Alpha Jet TH are amazing strikers.

I personally would like a dedicated fighter in ground battles to blow up CAS, and moving it down to 9.7 in GRB would literally change nothing except allowing it to be used. It is objectively worse than the 104G anyway.

Most planes have the same br in air and ground, even if they don’t carry bombs, since u can just choose to not use it for cas. It’s a pretty low priority issue, but changing it would set a standard and then most bombless planes would have to be adjusted, which would be an annoying waste of time for gaijin

There are more differences than that.

The G has:

-Better engine.

-CCIP

-Better RWR

-More ground ordinance.

The G is also 11.0 in Air RB and is lowered to 10.0 in Ground.
The J is 10.3 in Air RB and lowered to 10.0 in Ground.

Better to make these BR feedback posts during BR changes times though, they post about the preliminary BR changes here on the forum and ask for feedback and usually make revisions before making the BR changes live. I recommend making your argument in that thread once the next round of BR changes comes around.
