hell both AIM4 and the Red Top had good seekers for its time has 90 degrees if you slaving it to the radar or IRST on the F102A and the F106A but both plague with bad flight kinematics due to gaijin selective realism.

I wish air RB encouraged more high altitude stuff
its a lot of fun coming in at mach 1.3 in the F-106 and watching the AIM-4G moving like an R-60
just wish it chased the tail rather than the aircraft model

I mean in that same vein we’re also waiting for R13M on the XS and Gaijin hasn’t added that, would definitely be worse than RB24J yet we want it, in the same vein the F-35 has the worse missile that it never used and we’re waiting for that change so realistically it’s whatever gaijin wants not what we want.

This is the same vein to the German F104 and the German and British F4 phantom both have AIM-9L during its service life. The premium F5C Skoshi tigers don’t have counter measures during the Vietnam war. The list will go on you know what I mean; Gaijin entertainment needs a proper competition in the Simcade Genre; That mouse aim for planes that they patent are scumy at best.

the gunpods are great, but the AIM-26 is too powerful, why on EARTH are they still withholding the AIM-4A and AIM-4C/D??? it’s just maddening at this point, the solution is RIGHT THERE

I’m not entirely sure the current aim-26 is too powerful, since it can be chaffed away from any aspect because of the way gaijin models it’s pulse seeker - however it will certainly give bombers a reason to carry chaff. The F102 can also only carry 2 of these missiles at one time, so they won’t be as overwhelming as the F3H which can have 4 aim-7c’s in it.
It also remains to be seen if gaijin will force the player to remove the missiles in the side bays to equip the aim-26, following the standard loadout list, or allow missiles in the sides according to what you see in some videos and is not explicitly forbidden in the manual. If it’s the former, a loadout of 2 pulse radar missiles + 12 ffar rockets + 7,62 mm gunpods is in no way overpowered…
