The event star system is just bad

cool, still minors

You dont want to continue arguing down this road buddy.

Can we stay on topic, also the forums are not the place to talk about anything related to adult content in any form end of and will be dealt with.

He also stated he’s been playing games since the 90s.
I really hope he lied about this, as seeing a dude in his age with his nickname is just weird.

I also think this star system is the most player friendly style of events we had.

I don’t understand… how does it destroy any possibility to do it passively, when literally all it takes is playing the game? No tasks, no crafting, no marketplace, no missions- all you need to do is to play like 1-2 hours a day like most of us already do normally and the vehicle is yours.

For sure. The other 2 styles were much worse. The task one would sometimes take all day if you had bad luck with team.

The building one did not even let you get all the event vehicles without spending money.

During the last event, I played one day as a bomber and the next day as a fighter. On the first day, I was farming points for the event; on the second day, I was hunting those who were farming points.
But there are at least two maps where the airfields have no anti-air defenses. Ruhr – there’s no AA defense at all. Denmark – each team has two airfields with no AA defense.
The report has been around for 5–6 months. I even messaged a moderator to take a look at it, but unfortunately, nothing came of it.
As a result, we have two broken maps where everyone takes advantage of the lack of AA defenses for easy kills or points from destroying airfields.

maybe back to the crafting events… bc they were ofc better…

I have no issues with the current star system and see no reason for any changes.

I think it would be vastly better if it functioned like the coupon upgrade where it isn’t segmented into 2 day periods. Some point quotas are also ridiculous (20k per day is doable on a holiday perhaps, but any other time is obscene)

(I also wish we could grind the event with any type of vehicle, solely due to it taking ages to find a tier 3 naval game and barely getting any points each time. I can understand why people would be against this due to one vehicle at the hands of a novice flooding lobbies).

Granted it’s leagues better than prior formats, but some tweaks here and there would be nice.

toptier air is pretty fastly done…

Do you mean air events? If so then I agree the aren’t as bad but can still be draining (I did the Su-25BM, Mirage 2000Cs4, IRAF F-14 and IAR-93).

It was a massive slog from start to finish for grinding the Churchill petard, KV7 and firos.

Couldn’t do naval via combination of long que times and low score (I’m not fully accustomed to cruisers).

yep ground events are way worse than air events.

I don’t disagree on principle, but there needs to be a progression system. It’s a pretty decent leaning curve, biplanes are generally more forgiving to learn for a new player than 4th gen jets with all the avionics and sensors. If all vehicles were available from the start most people would flock to top tiers, get frustrated and leave early. The only flaw of the system is how ridiculously long the grind is and that the game doesn’t incentivize players to try out more vehicles and tech trees.

Just because its normal doesn’t mean it should be like that. The current system is made to MAKE ppl buy the stages thats why the frame is so small and you get a discoun5 on the stars when reaching like 30k so you buy them because you think its more worth it now although they always make money because you only get pixels.

Task based events has already proven to be terrible. Id rather play some time on vehicles I want than trying to do random tasks on a t34.
Also it would make some people unable to complete challenge when they dont have certain tanks. How could you get even t34 without having t34 to do tasks?
And how about vehicles like ct cv 105 hp? It doesnt have smth similar in tt.

New players don’t realize just how much worse the old event system was. this is far better not perfect, still grindy but better. in fact the way it is now is due to player feedback.

We have a passive event system. It is called the free tree event. Available every day.

Even with the most score expensive events (45k per star), thats just 22.5k score a day. 2 hours of playtime.

Getting that 2 hours guaranteed is usually done through zombing, rigging/shopping (leaving after dying once because enemy is not pushover and joining another lobby until you find noobs to farm), unsportsmanlike behaviours (spawnkilling people on maps with no AAA. Last air event, I kept killing people in bombers flying low near airfields on Ruhr using third person mouse aim gunner to strafe people who spawned in).

If you do it through genuine gameplay -

1 kill is worth 450 score. With multipliers (0.9x for prop tier, 2.3x for SB), it goes up to 931.

For 45k star events, that’s over 46 kills needed.

Looking at some of my screenshots,

75 minute game, 7276, worth 15K progress

image

80 minute game, 5475, worth 11K progress

image

63 minute game, total is 7226, worth 14k progress

image

93 minute game, total is 3,633, worth 7K progress

There’s a pretty big variation in how much score you earn over a period of time flying props going for pure air to air combat. This is not entirely based on your skill either but time of day (amount of people also flying you can dogfight - the bf109 screenshot has me getting ~1 kill per 15 minutes without dying except 3 times because it was a very dead time of day)

On weekdays, I prefer to fly 1 full match and leave it at that - so 90 minutes/day usually, maybe 2 hours if it drags out. Might do 2 b2b matches if one ends early in 45 minutes and then I leave early next game.

If I wanted to do events, I’d have to ignore A2A combat due to its unpredictability in prey density and skill (10 enemies who are in VC and highly competent vs 10 enemies flying solo and competent, vs 10 newbies, vs 2 fighters and 8 bombers who J out when you approach them and so on), and instead fly a bomber for consistent guaranteed score for airfields/bases.

Furthermore, to ensure consistency I would want to start new lobbies on maps ill-suited for propeller planes flooding and diluting the player numbers to reduce chances I get caught.

Furthermore, to reduce frequency of getting caught I need to J-out/intentionally crash the moment I see a fighter to discourage them from bothering me by making it clear that hunting bombers in this lobby is just a waste of time.

Boom, you have air grind event induced ruination of an otherwise fun game mode driven by the very small amount of time you have to get tons of score and the best/most consistent way to get that score is anti-gameplay.
