The Eurofighter (AESA) balance problem and potential solutions to rectify it

This one is an image on the Eurofighter website, it doesn´t mention to be exclusive of Mk0

“Not huge gap”

GBR ant Ital just can correct missile at Notch, DE cant.

This is “not huge gap”

It’s scary to ask what is the big difference

Germany literally has only the worst options for joint development at the moment.

It’s like a deliberate mockery.

Late reply but I wanted to drop a thought.

Personally I would grind the German Typhoon because its German and I like the slim look of it without PIRATE (for early one). I know it might sound crazy but I would prefer german EFT to stay unique without IRST and with different but accurate radar aswell as smoky AIM-9Li (of choice) because there’s nothing cooler than seeing the missile trail chasing the enemy.

I know people are fixated about meta as if it was the only metric allowing for fun but theres so much more to the game that you can enjoy. German Typhoon by no means would end up being DOA if introduced without these extra 20 degrees of gimball.

Maybe its just because I play all nations but I really cant see the reason for such outrage from German players.

Considering Gaijin has been screwing over the German tech tree of years. There’s “some” bad blood there. The annoyance and outrage is to be expected when they arbitrarily get shafted every time. I’m only referring to the air tree here. The ground tree is fine aside from the arbitrary SLM nerf that came for literally no reason.

Apart from obvious MiG-21 - MiG-23 / F-4F late era that was seriously neglected in favour of USSR and US, I cant say the same about current state of their top tier with F-4F ICE and Typhoon and Tornado variants.

The German 2a7v is slightly worse than the Hungarian one.

The Tornado SLE is inferior to the Tornado Gr.4 and was added to the game a year later.

The Eurocopter UHT is the worst helicopter 13.0, and France also has the Eurocopter HAC and HAD.

Both German Eurofighters are worse than their counterparts in some ways.

“But don’t worry, just enjoy the aesthetics of German camouflage.”

It looks like a very unfunny joke.

They had to wait a year for the typhoon while their best option was the F4f ice and when they finally got the eurofighter, it had an unplayably bad radar, and a broken fm for months, and it got denied PIRATE despite getting aim9m, paveways, and brimstones. As of the current day yeah, they have it alright, but they still had the weakest eurofighter.

Ngl seeing German mains complain about not getting PIRATE makes no sense to me. The sheer amount of bugs surrounding it genuinely made it an absolute nuisance to play in Air RB as it constantly broke the radar lock for no reason, which got fixed, then reverted back to being broken again by interrupting the radar lock.

Honestly you’re lucky you didn’t get PIRATE, it’s an incredibly situational tool which causes issues more often than it’s useful.

Yes?

Nobody needs your PIRATE, in general, instead of introducing new Eurofighters, it would be worthwhile to simply adjust the Radar.

It’s ridiculous when the Tornado F.3 radar feels better than the Eurofighter radar.

That “slightly” doesnt make the vehicle worse. I’d say that HUN 2a7 is actually worse because of RCS HE trap.

Both are different unrelated upgrades

No argument for that. Its clearly wrong and unfair

I’d say its subjective. The differences are minor and almost gameplay irrelevant. German Typhoon will very well be meta in its current state if thats what you are concerned about.

I didnt realise the Mk1 on the German Typhoon had a fixed array AESA like the Rafale has. I was under the impression that it had +/- 90 and not +/- 60-70. I must be mistaken then

Tell that to all the forum posts about Germany “suffering” cause they didn’t get it lmao

Oh yeah, that does matter within the game, right? We’ll just add a less effective variant to the same BR, preferably within a year.

Pretty sure the IDS got couple “MLUs” in game during that time. LJDAMs for example gave it an extra edge which I enjoyed a lot in top tier ground.

You obviously don’t know how to play if you don’t understand what these 10 degree sectors in the 90-100 range give you; you can follow an already launched missile while in Notch.

Its the same as with Mk.0/2, just we have an new Antenna over the Mk.0 where its not clear of its still 100° FoR or just the 90° FoV

Britian simply upgraded their Tornado more than Italy or Germany did. Simple as that. Also, whislt Germany got the Event Tornado with ASMs and the Premium Tornado, we didnt. Heck, britain is still the only one of the 3 that doesnt get an 11.3/10.0 Tornado IDS AND we are the only nation to have a Tornado IDS with the notably weaker Mk101 engines. Using Gaijins logic, the ASSTA1, MFG and WTD61 should all have Mk101 engines to “create a feeling of progression” for the SLE.

Yeah, but Husky said that it was impossible for the new German Typhoon to notch and guide missiels at the same time, which must mean it has less the 90 degrees FoR

So maybe a better version should have been introduced later? And maybe not on the same BR? You really don’t see a problem with this?
