Its that the limit is right at 90 degrees. You cant notch a missile and guide yours in at 90 because of the closer rate of the incoming missile in that situation. You need slightly more than 90 degrees to notch and guide. This is especially noticeable against MICA.
Translation: “Just accept that you’re inferior and find meaning in it.”
As I´m reading the only place where it says 90 degrees of FOV of the Mk1 is in the manufacturer website, also still can´t find where it says the Mk0 and Mk2 has 100 degrees, only the official website of EF that doesnt state wich Mk has the 100 degrees, and the leonardo website that doesnt say the 100 degrees.
And the GR4 was added 9 months after the WTD61.
Your point?
What differences?
You get HOSBO, we get PGMs. I would take HOSBOs everytime
You get GBU-54s we get Paveway IVs
You get Aim-9li we get Aim-9M
We have 15 Brimstones that arent worth ever equipping, you have 9 Brimstones that you shouldnt even have considering that fitting them was a proposal from 10 years ago for the ASSTA 4 and not the SLE.
Ive had no issue the past year sitting with targets right at the edge of the CAPTOR-Ms FoR guiding missiles in before they go active and I can notch if needed to defend. Combine the upgrade of going to AESA with the the ability to actually sit at 85-90 degrees and still guide the missile, Those extra 10 degrees…
Its a minor QoL advnatage, the way some are speaking about it, youd think the Mk1 has the same FoR as the CAPTOR-M
So, is the plane’s name the only thing that matters to you? Doesn’t it matter that these planes aren’t comparable in terms of missions and effectiveness?
“Just ignore the fact that Brimstone can’t be used with HOSBO.”
Dude, it’s a game, a PVP game, there needs to be balance, you know? It’s not a museum.
Once again against MICA its a lot more noticeable. You simply cant guide with them at 90. you have to pull away from the missile at some point to notch fully. You can guide them until they pitbull then go cold, but thats not the same thing.

Just delete Brimstones from the SLE. Problem solved
It’s funny to listen to the attacks of players who preferred to play the fictional JAS39 instead of the Tornado F.3 Late, when the Germans had no choice and had to play the F4F.
Cough,cough
Regarding the F-4F ICE on launch it was the best 3rd gen FOX3 carrier in game and soon after its introduction got moved down BR despite other 3rd gen FOX3 carriers staying the same. After multiple BR compressions and decompressions ICE still remains the strongest among similar vehicles and is one of the strongest vehicles around its current BR imo.
And just to clarify I do play the type. It was one of my most anticipated semi-modern vehicles. I loved playing it on dev and I do love playing it now.
There is no point in discussing anything with you, you don’t even understand that Notch is not just being at 90 degrees from the target.
It was 13.3 when it was introduced and the top br at the time was 13.7. it moved to 13.0 specifically because it performed so poorly. I love the ICE too, hell i spaded mine when it was 13.3, but he’s kinda right. It was the weakest top tier addition in comparison to the F15c and su27sm added in the same patch.
And it was kinda historically introduced as a stop gap in game, until (too strong at the time) Typhoon could arrive. Playing it as boom and zoom and pure BVR fighter at the time wasnt a bad experience for me personally. Even in WVR I still found myself to be surprisingly effective due to amazing ACM lock windows allowing for some crazy off boresight shots with AIM-120. And these days its just an amazing aircraft. Thats how I see it
Historically, JAS39 was invented for the British to avoid such problems.
And now the British are telling us how to “accept our differences.”
I agree with lowering the BR in ground combat to 11.7. Like Kurnass 2000
Dudes just stop fighting and lets put pressure to add the 100 degrees fov on the German EF too, there insn´t a reason why it shouldn´t has it too.
Obviously this will not happen.
Um except SAAF JAS39C didnt really fix much since it only carried R-Darters which gave it effectively worse BVR performance than the ICE itself. Now if we focus on the British air before this addition we would end up with a very miserable state rendering them worse than Germany which (at the time) already received two stop gap additions in form of MiG-29A and G if the memory serves me right.
Germany received the update later than the USSR, and that’s the developers’ love for the German tech tree.
Every aircraft that can be delayed, they will. The only thing worse was Japan with their F-2.
