The Dragon Box

The Dragon, a symbol of the New Year, has prepared a magical box for you that contains artifacts from the past. Items that were previously available in the Chronicles of World War II, Pages of History, World War Mode and May events, as well as from War Thunder’s birthdays are waiting for you in this box!

The “Dragon Box” can be purchased from the in-game Item Shop for Silver Lions from February 1st (11:00 GMT) until February 28th (11:00 GMT). It doesn’t require a key and can only be purchased by players who have bought at least one researchable vehicle at Rank II or higher on their account.

What’s in the box?

The “Dragon Box” contains vehicles and camouflages, decals and decorations, player icons and loading screens, as well as useful consumable items: boosters, universal backups, wagers and orders. Some items from past events are appearing as coupons for the first time, and you’ll be able to trade them on the Market!

60,000 Silver Lions is what the “Dragon Box” costs. On February 28th at 11:00 GMT, all Dragon Boxes will disappear from your inventory, so be sure to open them before then!

It’s good that there is a way to get stuff that is no longer obtainable in the game, but gambling just isn’t it. It would make more sense to use the warbonds shop for these.

I literally spent 24 million SL on snowmen last month. Give me a break jfc… I need more than a month to accumulate more SL.

Constant events also means constant SL lootboxes. My advice therefore is to carefully consider which box has prizes you actually want. For example I want nothing in particular from this one, I mean it’d be nice but nothing I especially care for. So, I won’t open even one. I will start hoarding SL.

You can potentially accumulate SL through multiple events depending on the lootbox contents, and then as soon as you see a list you actually like, you can just rain SL down on it like you’re Bomber Command.

Odds on the last one were somewhere above 300:1 for any vehicle, possibly as high as 1000:1 for a vehicle coupon. If you want to play with those odds, it’s just SL, you can always make more.

I much prefer SL crates over the GE ones, which have no place in a game that children and adolescents play. And the SL boxes on the previous five campaigns have been working to slowly bring down market prices for old vehicles, which were becoming ludicrously high prior.

Increased play rate by the playerbase during events is also going to lead to more and more SL being generated. So they needed a in-game currency sink here to offset that. They needed to add something in the game we could buy with all that extra SL. I’d rather have had more things in Item Shop that are SL-purchaseable rather than crates, but the prices would be ludicrous (if all the same vehicles were in item shop for 20 million SL each up front, I’d prefer that, personally, but you couldn’t do that with the coupons, really, so you’d need yet another mechanism again to do the rare coupon drops to avoid marketplace inflation thing… this is a two-birds-with-one-stone thing, I can live with it.)

Not only directly activated, but now over BR’d to the moon! It was okay at 6.0, at 6.7 it’s fucking useless.

Warbond is more of a gamble than SL? There’s only a set amount you can have, and it’s also based on whether or not you bought the premium pass

Thanks for sharing?

So what are the odds of getting a vehicle? One in ten million again?
