FGR2 has better engines but is heavier so turns worse. Also dependent on an external gunpod.
Radar on the FGR2 is one of the weakest PDV radars in game and can barely guide a skyflash onto target.
Skyflashes are a modified Aim-7E (Iirc) they have a max effective range of maybe 10km, but usually more like 7-8 and can usually be defaeted kinematically.
FGR2 is at 12.0, with 4x Aim-9Gs and 4x Skyflash DFs (aim-7E basically). F-4F ICE has 4x Aim-9Li and 4x AMRAAM and better FM and a better radar. Even the ICE has better CMs. Only advantage is maybe that the FGR2 is slightly faster on the deck. Not that that changes much when defending against an AMRAAM.
FGR2/FG1 should never have been 12.0 to begin with (and yes, struggled like hell vs the Harriers), but now they are facing supersonic AMRAAM slingers and the Su-27. Is just getting kinda insane.
But then again, the f4f also struggles against its actual BR, which is basically constantly 13.7, even though it’s a much better FM than the other phantoms
The people here will never agree with you, but you are right. I took the ICE out again last night to work on finishing spading it, and even with only 2 120s, 4 9Lis and no performance mods I shalacked the blue team with it for 2 hours at 13.7. Went 21-7 with only 3 deaths to enemy players and gun kills on an F-16C and multiple F-15A/Cs.
We dont need things like the f4f ice and shar being moved down. The br cap should be raised to 14.3 minimum… The shar shouldnt be facing f15c’s and gripens just as much as 11.7s shouldnt be seeing the shar, same with the f4f ice.
13.0 plus is basically just 13.7 with how many uptiers you see and the shar has no right being their (especially when compared to its “counterpart” the av 8b+ which is just better in every way aprt from radar).
When it comes to “I can easily see that bracket becoming 1:2 ratio of players in favour for Redfor.” it absolutely is true that the minor nations don’t have enough bodies to outweigh USA to that degree. It’s just cold hard facts. Especially when they’re on USA’s team half the time.
People were discussing it in the R&R thread (or the dev server changelog thread one of the 2) and they said it felt better. Dunno if its just a placebo. But figured they might have done something
There are no games where Japan, Sweden, and France are on the same team. They all float and Japan is never paired with France or Sweden.
AAM-3 is for all intents and purposes equal to Aim-9M.
MiG-29G is at 13.0 and it gets clowned on by the F-14s and the F-15s. There was a USA main who was complaining about the MiG-29 fighting the F-16A. I took the F-16A against his MiG-29 and he lost every time. This is something that I have demonstrated in game too many times to count at this point.
Both are still out-ranged and out performed BVR by the F-14 IRAF. If they get into a dogfight they just die. Or they should…but hey… I somehow out rated a Gripen with the F-4E today… so there is that.
France and Sweden never make up the majority of a red side team. At best it can be argued that they have parity due to the minor nations they are paired up with.
Potatoe tomatoe. The ICE dropping down just means it has a chance to at least have a niche outside of “just worse than everything it faces in every respect”. But also yes…the Tornado should move down so it can also be a mid mobile with AMRAAMs for some of the time and not just outright bad every day of the week.
Fakours while strong are no AIM 120 and the IRIAF F-14 has weak IR missiles for the BR level.
An F-4F KWS should smoke an Iranian F-14 in most engagements.
rooivalk well that best Laser guidance missile helis ,Except KA50/52 MI28MN. it beat ka52/mi28mn some situation.
Because it has a longer guidance distance, better trajectory (power all the way), and it is better than all missiles except 9M127 (except FNF which is a different thing. They don’t need continuous guidance, just a lottery.)
