The double standard when talking about the Brimstone's capabilities

KH-38 isn’t the only problem.
GBUs, Mav [which shares the same lock target range as KH-38 currently apparently], etc. Anything with a range longer than 14km.

Cause all it takes is for CAS players to universally learn what the YouTuber Hunter learned, or what I learned, and they’ll never die to Pantsir.
GRB will either turn into air RB, or people will be forced to be defensive in their tanks against air like I’ve been since 2020.

you dont seem to be getting the point, 6 KH38MTs are still better then 9 laser guided bimstones, even if they had a nerfed FnF mode they would probably still be worse then the KH38MT so instead of gaijin taking multiple updates to add 20km range sams (still wouldnt change much as the they can fire and then go defensive) they should remove the MT and keep the ML as that requires them to keep a laser lock

They’d have to remove Mavericks as well for balance and fairness.
And honestly, I’d prefer they not for two reasons.
1- They’ll have to re-add Mavs and KH-38s regardless.
2- The more people learn to play CAS the more pressure there is to develop permanent fixes.

so explain to me then, if you think its better to keep KH38MTs and Mavs on these better platforms it isnt okay to get fnf brimstones?

There is a cognitive dissonance in my mind regarding the suggestion of entirely fictionalizing Brimstone for IR-guided Brimstone.

Cause I oppose artificial nerfs.
I also oppose plausible limited functionality… to a point.
I prefer things to be as accurate as possible regardless of consequences.

However, I cannot have any of those with Brimstone.
Consequences mean:
1- Hundreds of temporary bans from teamkilling.
2- Mass death of your team.
3- British bias, genuine unadulterated nation bias.

So I’m conflicted, and haven’t come to a permanent conclusion on what I want beyond the missile itself in any fixed functional state.

So far it Is only You without any evidence claiming that S1 can’ track incoming ordenance, which is trange since even Roland can do that.

What is s good thing to die to FOX 3?

S1 is simply excellent A2/AD platform, It forces attacking AC to either climb end expose itself to enemy fighters, or fly at deck which severely limits use of A2G weapons. In any case it would at least delay arrival of CAP providing window for the RED force to destroys BLUE force SAMs with their stand off attack capability.

I would like to kindly remind everybody that it is not allowed to use profanities in any sort of way, no matter the censorship or abbreviations.

Particularly in the case of @Serasvonvictoria and @ShOt_MaCkEr, but this goes for everybody, do NOT target specific users for whatever reason and refrain from bringing personal disputes to public threads, it only creates a back and forth between two (or more) users and derails the topic.

It is also completely unnecessary to announce to the world that you’ve blocked a user, please also avoid that.

Just say the in game smoke is “multi-spectral smoke” (real thing, and been around for 30 years. Kinda already is given it blocks thermals) as a semi-accurate way of explaining why smoke blocks the Brimstone radar, then make Brimstone FnF and blocked by smoke like they should have been from the start.

Bruh less than 100 battles on one heli. Almost nothing on a grand scale no wonder you are saying apache is better than ka50

It’s Brimstone 1 not 2, Brim 1 has 20km claimed range so about 30km is to be expected.

The point is this

Compare top tier aircraft, not loadouts, just the aircraft that will face each other in top tier GRB

Tornado Gr4
Gripen C
F-16C
F-15E
Su-34
J-10
Su-27
etc etc

The only thing the GR4 is really better than is something like the Su-25SM3 (which hardly matters anymore as people will just play the Su-34)

Now lets include loadouts, all but the Su-25 can carry a powerful multirole array of weapons, including Fox 3s, something the GR4 cant. compared to most, its actually got a fairly weak A2A loadout.

Now lets compare A2G. They all have FnF wepeons that outrange most SPAA. They can spawn in, defend against any threats with ease and then fire off 4-6 IR guided weapons or a hell of a lot more GPS guided weapons before either turning cold for more or engaging in CAP.

Tornado Gr4 has to sit there, guiding a Brimstone onto a single target, whilst trying to maintain laser lock whislt actively defending against Fox-3s and SPAAs for well over a minute.

Thats the problem. Brimstones have a niche use case, but are the weakest top tier AGM in game by far, on one of the weakest airframes at top tier by far. Despite the fact they should be one of the most effective and powerful AGMs ever added to the game

Something needs to be done, as it stands, there is nearly no reason to run the Tornado Gr4 over the Gripen or Gr7 which have better overall loadouts to the GR4. The GR4 is just a meme aircraft at this point, no more effective than the F-117 will be at its BR, sure it can get a kill, but for every kill it gets, the Su-34 has just gotten 6 with a fraction of the effort.

If they are going to artificially limit the Brimstones to laser guidance only (and it is an artificial limitation) then they should do the same with all top tier AGMs, just straight up remove IR and TV guided weapons from the game, limit something like the Su-34 to the laser guided variant of the KH-38. Because this is a double standard gaijin is implementing currently, limiting one AGM, on one aircraft to being only laser guided but still allowing TV and IR guided missiels onto other nations.

A non-ahistorical solution to the Brimstone could just be giving the Brimstone terminal mmV guidance. When they get within 3-4km of the target, the laser can be switched off and the Brimstone continues to guide the misisle onto the existing target. This gives them no more power than a KH-38 or AGM-65 (and yes, 99% certain that the Brimstone can be used like this IRL)

Was working under the assumption that they were not using the extremely limited run dual mode modified brimstones as they are very non-standard at the time of that comment.

A good solution for compromise, give it the MMW but limit it to ~5km lock.

Tbh, the best from All the options would be make Brimstones LOBL only and makes smokes multispectral. But its gaijin decision not to do that, as they themselfs said they looked at all the options.

but this is balanced

just let that sink in

Can they be used effectively in GRB, or is it an air battles only type of thing?

Their gps so any spaa that isnt paying attention is dead to it. Although in ground your more likely to bring the kh38 with 20km+ range, mach 2 and comes in 2 variants. One with laser guidance and the other with iir guidance with ins and iog meaning it will somewhat track through smoke.

Average british top tier cas requires multiple dips and climbs to guide in the payload while staying hidden, along with chaff deployment to spoof the pantsir radar.

Russian cas blasting the ussr national anthem 14km away with not a worry in sight.

Small ordnance doesn’t show up on the search, only after locking, which targets the aircraft due to the aircraft higher radar signature, do they show up, but quickly disappear if you unlock the aircraft.

IDK if the locking part is old or new, but the small ordnance not showing up isn’t new, as my summer 2024 tests showed Pantsir wasn’t picking up ordnance in general consistently.

This is a snippet of 2 hours of testing multiple Pantsir owners.

@GothFemboyHooter
It’s boring that I can hop into Tornado, F-16, etc and be immune to SPAA.

PGM-2000 but GPS.
