The point is this
Compare top tier aircraft, not loadouts, just the aircraft that will face each other in top tier GRB
Tornado Gr4
Gripen C
F-16C
F-15E
Su-34
J-10
Su-27
etc etc
The only thing the GR4 is really better than is something like the Su-25SM3 (which hardly matters anymore as people will just play the Su-34)
Now lets include loadouts, all but the Su-25 can carry a powerful multirole array of weapons, including Fox 3s, something the GR4 cant. compared to most, its actually got a fairly weak A2A loadout.
Now lets compare A2G. They all have FnF wepeons that outrange most SPAA. They can spawn in, defend against any threats with ease and then fire off 4-6 IR guided weapons or a hell of a lot more GPS guided weapons before either turning cold for more or engaging in CAP.
Tornado Gr4 has to sit there, guiding a Brimstone onto a single target, whilst trying to maintain laser lock whislt actively defending against Fox-3s and SPAAs for well over a minute.
Thats the problem. Brimstones have a niche use case, but are the weakest top tier AGM in game by far, on one of the weakest airframes at top tier by far. Despite the fact they should be one of the most effective and powerful AGMs ever added to the game
Something needs to be done, as it stands, there is nearly no reason to run the Tornado Gr4 over the Gripen or Gr7 which have better overall loadouts to the GR4. The GR4 is just a meme aircraft at this point, no more effective than the F-117 will be at its BR, sure it can get a kill, but for every kill it gets, the Su-34 has just gotten 6 with a fraction of the effort.
If they are going to artificially limit the Brimstones to laser guidance only (and it is an artificial limitation) then they should do the same with all top tier AGMs, just straight up remove IR and TV guided weapons from the game, limit something like the Su-34 to the laser guided variant of the KH-38. Because this is a double standard gaijin is implementing currently, limiting one AGM, on one aircraft to being only laser guided but still allowing TV and IR guided missiels onto other nations.
A non-ahistorical solution to the Brimstone could just be giving the Brimstone terminal mmV guidance. When they get within 3-4km of the target, the laser can be switched off and the Brimstone continues to guide the misisle onto the existing target. This gives them no more power than a KH-38 or AGM-65 (and yes, 99% certain that the Brimstone can be used like this IRL)
