The US built so many of them, I’m pretty sure the list of nations that haven’t gotten their hands on one is shorter than this list of those who did.
And those who did get it, most made the same modification(and then some nations’ unique ones), and they have so many of them sitting around that they can do whatever with them.
This is not a Vismod, it is the NGAFV (Hunter AFV hull) with a Cockerill 3105 turret, which was proposed to the US as an alternative to whatever in the MPF program.
Unfortunately my bug report was accepted as suggestion, which means it can take a while to be fixed if ever at all.
The funniest part is an aswer from CBR mentioning manual of MB-326K, which is most likely a manual of KC, with which my report “contradicts”. Afaik Aermacchi doesn’t share manuals for Italian MB-326k exemplars, although if they want to use export manual they could buy publicly available MB-326KD/KB manual, it at least matches performance of RS-25, unlike KC variant.
Yeah that was my thought exactly, its annoying they seem to be using the KC export manual as their primary source when that manual was specifically for the SA export version that had the lower power engine cause of the licence issues.
The KD/KB manual states Viper 632 as far as I am aware but I can’t double check it since its not a free manual : (
I managed to find one or 2 other authored sources as well but they are “Seconday” sources at most. What would be ideal is if someone bought the KD manual and did a new report using that and all the other sources imo.
Lets just hope they see sense and change it in the end I guess.
I was trying to put together a list of sources last night that I knew of.
The ones I could find were,
Turbofan and Turbojet Engine Database Handbook by Elodi Roux.
Ali D’Italia MB-236
MB-326K Brochure by Aermacchi
MB-326KD/KB Flight Manual
Coccarde Tricolori Speciale - MB-326
And I expect there are some more I don’t know about but those sources alone should be more than enough to prove the engine is incorrect. Two Primary and plenty of Secondary sources in there.
