Hence a toggle, that provides granular control over if you want it for your current endeavour, or do not desire it as it would prove detrimental to the given circumstance.
We already think enough about driving as it is. You might as well suggest that we manually shift gears just to be able to turn somewhere in a narrow alleyway. This is simply an awful mechanic that might improve the Type 10’s handling, but at the same time ruins the handling of all other MBTs in the game beyond recognition
Just look at SPANISH_AVENGER’s video, he has to do things that aren’t necessary right now just to perform some basic maneuvers🙆♂️

He would have had to completely stop the tank to turn in that spot, otherwise he would have simply crashed into the concrete supports.
I’ve just recorded a 6 minute, 2 GB video driving across Poland streets, but it’s too heavy and I can’t compress it on the site I was using lmao.
Lemme compress it and upload.
Why don’t you just upload it to YouTube?
You can’t, currently those don’t work for vehicles with RS. They just engage both breaks. But thats clearly a bug.
Ignore him, he is not engaging in a good faith. He has wierd agenda and is pushing it.
I’m… sleepy (keep in mind for my driving xD) and my brain didn’t process I could do that, hahah.
Anyway, here it comes! Quality is horrible because it went from 2 GB to 58 MB, but;
6+ minutes of driving across the city of Poland with Regenerative Steering.
It’s easier to drive across streets with Type 10, actually, since it still pulls tighter than other tanks despite having regenerative steering too. If people find general regenerative steering too hard for streets, perhaps it could be adjusted across the board to generally respond more like it does in Type 10?
Make it toggleable, adjust it to feel like Type 10’s (tighter turn but still without losing speed), whatever, anything, but… do NOT cancel its implementation!
big W
unnessesary
yay
copy paste
but wtf we already have a triple vehicle russian pack
cool
nice
typo
big W
yay
better or worse?
can you please give these things realshatter or at least make them hit harder than a potato launcher please please please
is that APHE equipped?
nice
that includes Tu-1?
happy to see this. But why not the regular T18B?
I found something…
The IS-2M’s engine is governed to 2250 RPM. The in-game horsepower therefore might not reflect the actual maximum.

that lets you make amzing loadouts such as this:

(should have been like that from the start becasue now all my loadouts are broken)

6+ minutes of driving across the city of Poland with Regenerative Steering.
Well, now every member of this forum can see how difficult it is to make even elementary 90-degree turns with the new mechanic. You literally had to stop the tank every single time, and even then you couldn’t manage to make some of the turns.
Maybe it’s better to keep this mechanic for the Type 10 and leave it as it was for all other MBTs? Personally, I don’t want to sacrifice the mobility of 99% of the MBTs in the game for the sake of a single Type 10.
that isnt even the worst one
sigh
ykno who am i to critisize a forum legend like you
i should be taking notes lmao
Maybe it’s better to keep this mechanic for the Type 10 and leave it as it was for all other MBTs?
Or, perhaps, it could be modelled in all MBTs the way it is in Type 10?
I’ve now tried Type 10 and, while it doesn’t lose speed anymore thanks to regenerative steering, it still turns sharply enough to allow for comfortable city driving.
I am open to many options, as I acknowledge that current general Regenerative Steering is not optimal for EVERY circumstance; I’m just against ditching/cancelling regenerative steering altogether.
Make it toggleable, polish it, make it more like Type 10’s, anything… but NOT cancel it.
Type 90, Type 90B, Type 10, TKX, TKX (P), Leopard 2PL, Leopard 2A4, Leopard 2A4M, Leopard 2A5, Leopard 2A6, Leopard 2 PSO, Leopard 2A7V, Leopard 2A7HU, Leopard 2A5NL, Leopard 2A4NL, Leopard 2A6NL — the regenerative (double differential) steering mechanic has been enabled for testing. With it, the tanks lose virtually no speed when turning, but the radius of the turn increases with the speed. Make sure to leave your feedback!
Realistic change, but leopards wont turn at all now. With that type of steering they just keep driving forwards and barely turn while you hold only A or D. That change makes them much much worse compared to a type 90/type 10 with the same steering implemented. Please, rework leopards steering to make them more playable. Or make that type of steering optional. It is a complete nightmare to drive leopards now in the city maps due to large turn radius even at low speed (15-20kph). With that change it is just impossible to do agile and quick turn. I prefer not to get that type of steering if you implement it like this. Change should make driving experience better, not worse. The type 10 and type 90 regenerative steering feels great. It doesnt limit your ability to turn quickly whenever u need, but does give u an advantage when u want to do slight turn on the field. Tanks should get this change, because it is realistic, but they also should stay playable and should feel good and fun to play.
