Known Bugs

  • New vehicles in this update may have inaccuracies in their characteristics, armor and weaponry settings.

  • The armor model for new ground vehicles in this update is “work in progress” for adjustment and improvement.

  • Some new aircraft lack cockpits.

  • Some new ground vehicles lack a visible crew.

  • On some aircraft, torn off wings may be displayed incorrectly.

  • Some vehicle icons are missing.

  • There may be lack of localization for some vehicles, weapons and systems.

  • Some sound effects may be missing.

  • Some aircraft may have inaccuracies in their damage model, missing fuel, oil and water leaks, and armor materials.

How the dev server works

The dev server uses a copy of your account from the main game server, taken from recent days.

Earned & Spent items

Anything you do on the dev server is not transferred to the live main server, such as Research Points and Silver Lions earned, achievements unlocked and vehicles unlocked. This also applies to any Golden Eagles, Silver Lions and Research Points that you spend on the dev server — nothing will be subtracted from your live server account.

Purchasing on the dev server

Golden Eagles and other things purchased through the dev server are credited to your account on the main server.

Special settings are in effect on the dev server

  • x5 bonus to earning Research Points and Silver Lions
  • All vehicles are two times cheaper
  • Convertible research points using Golden Eagles is two times cheaper

  • Darwin Hill — a new location for Ground Battles has been added.

Location and mission updates

  • Pyrenees — a bug that caused a viaduct to float has been fixed.
  • Second Battle of El Alamein — paths to unfair positions in grid squares A2 and C3 have been blocked.
  • Attica — the unfair position in grid square C3 has been blocked.
  • Gold Quarry — unfair positions at the edges of the map have been blocked.
  • Air defense emplacements have been added to airfields.
  • Red Desert — terrain elevations have been adjusted, and rock geometry modified in the affected areas. High-ground positions offering line-of-sight across the entire map have been minimized, and terrain height at player spawn points has been lowered to conceal vehicles during the initial stages after spawning.
  • Afghanistan — the map has been visually overhauled; terrain now has more detail, and textures have been improved.

  • Finland — the landscape to the East of the spawn zones for both teams has been adjusted, and more driveable space has been added to create more suitable positions for multi-vehicle SAM vehicles.
  • Ash River — the positions of some spawn points have been adjusted to avoid situations where a player could have spawned on the hill side and would not be able to quickly drive off it. (Report).
  • The ability to select a specific aircraft carrier, either catapult or trampoline one, has been added to all Air Realistic Battles missions.
  • [Operation] Falkland Islands, [Operation] Denmark — a second aircraft carrier, a trampoline one, has been added to both teams.

Enduring Confrontation

  • The first airfield is now available for players to select right after getting into a new session, without the need to wait for the mission start sequence (after which spawning becomes possible). All other airfields are displayed only after the full mission start, same as before the change.

Ground Vehicle model, damage model, characteristic and weaponry changes

  • Type 90, Type 90B, Type 10, TKX, TKX (P), Leopard 2PL, Leopard 2A4, Leopard 2A4M, Leopard 2A5, Leopard 2A6, Leopard 2 PSO, Leopard 2A7V, Leopard 2A7HU, Leopard 2A5NL, Leopard 2A4NL, Leopard 2A6NL — the regenerative (double differential) steering mechanic has been enabled for testing. With it, the tanks lose virtually no speed when turning, but the radius of the turn increases with the speed. Make sure to leave your feedback!

  • A bug that sometimes occurred when the shell hit the junction of two parallel armor parts, for example the edge of a welded-on armor plate, and caused the shell to get back to the original trajectory and ignore the second armor part after has been fixed.

  • D HL-1 explosive — TNT equivalent changed to match that of A-IX-II. DHL-1 is a different designation of the same compound. (Report).

  • Magach 7C, Gal Batash — the thickness of the composite side skirts has been increased from 40 mm to 90 mm. (Report, Report).

  • Turan III, 44M Zrinyi I — the characteristics of the 43M PR. gránát shell have been adjusted to match the original Hl.Gr 38C shell. (Report, Report).

  • Kurnass 2000 — Delilah and Delilah (IR) guided missiles have been added along with the corresponding modification. The GBU-12 and GBU-10 modifications have been merged into a single “LGBU” modification at Tier 2 in the modification research window, enabling the use of all laser-guided bombs. The GBU-12 modification has been replaced by the LGBU modification, Research Points or Golden Eagles spent on the GBU-10 modification will be refunded. AGM-15(V)2/B guided bombs now require the installation of the ASW-55 pod.

  • The conditions of bomb damage and detonation while they are still on the aircraft have been adjusted. The explosion is now possible either on a direct hit of a shell with more than 80 kJ of energy: so a minimum of 23-30 mm AP shell, or on an explosion of a shell with 30 g or more of explosives in TNT equivalent right on the bomb: so a minimum of 30 mm shell. For a guaranteed detonation of a bomb a shell with at least 3 kg of explosives in TNT equivalent is needed: so a minimum of 100-122 mm HE round. But many hits of shrapnel and low-caliber projectiles are not harmless to a bomb, as they can turn it unusable without exploding it, after which the bomb will get discarded.

  • F-15C Golden Eagle — a restriction on the simultaneous use of the AIM-120 and AIM-9L/M or AIM-120A on the dual pylon has been added to prevent missile model clipping. (Report).

  • JAS-39E — the armament on the fuselage pylons has been split into three separate slots in the Secondary weapons menu.   • AASM Hammer bombs (all versions) — the maximum release speed has been set to Mach 1. Following a thorough review of the materials used to justify increasing the release speed to Mach 1.4, it was determined that the provided information was falsified. The release speed has been set to the standard Mach 1 limit for this class of weapon, as there is currently no evidence indicating that the pylons used support supersonic employment of this armament.

  • T160, M39, M61, M195, M197 20 mm cannons — external ballistics have been revised, shell parameters have been refined. (Report, Report).

Awards

  • The “Reward for a vehicle abandoned in combat” mechanic has been extended from aircraft to ground vehicles and ships: if a player abandons a vehicle without having taken damage, the kill is credited to the nearest player on the enemy team. The search radius is 3 km for ground vehicles and 20 km for ships. The system considers not only the nearest players but also the munitions they have fired, such as bombs, mines, torpedoes, and guided or unguided missiles; if a munition is closer, the reward goes to its owner. The reward amounts to 50% of the standard value and includes Silver Lions, Research Points, and mission points. This mechanic does not apply to reserve vehicles with zero repair cost.
  • If a ground vehicle sinks without sustaining damage, the kill is also credited to the nearest enemy player within a 3 km radius, similar to the reward for a crashed aircraft.

Interface

  • The choice of vehicle indicator style (WT, NATO or USSR) is now available in all game modes. The selected style applies both to markers on the tactical map and to vehicle indicators in battle: all vehicle types have received preset icons in the three styles. Previously this feature was only available in the Nuclear Escalation mode.
  • Hovering the cursor over a vehicle or base on the tactical map now shows a tooltip with the name and properties of the object. This feature, previously only available in Nuclear Escalation, is now enabled by default in all game modes.
  • The vehicle preset interface has been reworked: the preset list has been updated, the ability to scroll the list horizontally has been added, the separate window for editing the preset list has been replaced with a dropdown menu, and hovering over a preset shows its vehicles. The number of presets is no longer tied to unlocked vehicle ranks, the single limit is 25 presets.
  • A panel for selecting optional submodes has been added under the “To Battle!” button. Enabling additional game modes, such as night tank battles and Air Realistic Battles with smaller team sizes, has been moved there from the main mode settings. The panel shows the requirement for enabling a submode.
  • Information about used NVD or TVD and their generation is now shown in the tooltip for the optics modules in X-ray view of ground vehilces.
  • An orthogonal view has been added to the replays in the sensor view mode. It can be toggled by pressing the M key when the Sensor view is enabled.
  • An obsolete tooltip stating that cyclic radar target switching for aircraft could not be used when the “Cyclic aircraft radar target switching” option was disabled has been fixed.
  • An issue where the warning indicating that the selected weapon’s maximum launch speed had been exceeded would not appear in certain instances has been fixed. It now appears whenever a release is attempted while the maximum release speed is exceeded.
  • A distance to the point of interest is now displayed near its marker.
  • A bug that caused the corresponding interface elements to not blink in the Seeker View when the target got out of the launch distance or zone after switching to the Seeker View has been fixed.
  • Sight indication in the Seeker View now changes when the target gets out of the launch distance or zone.
  • A text hint about the target getting out of the launch distance or zone has been added.

Game mechanics

  • Modes that were previously only available during events have been added to the optional submode selection panel. Nuclear Escalation can be enabled as the main mode of Air Realistic Battles instead of classic battles, Naval Enduring Confrontation as the main mode of Naval Arcade and Realistic Battles instead of classic battles. Bullet Hell can be enabled as an additional mode of Air Realistic Battles.
  • A bug that caused locking a target on aircraft to reset the Point of Interest and turn off the laser designator has been fixed.

Sound

  • The firing sounds of aircraft and ground-based automatic guns of the same type now reflect the actual number of guns. For example, four Browning M2 machine guns now sound like four machine guns, rather than just one.
  • Aircraft cockpit audio has been improved: this includes vibration sounds during high-G maneuvers, aerodynamic wind noise, and mechanical system sounds. Engine audio is cleaner, with extraneous noises removed that previously masked the unique sound profile of each engine.
  • The sound of the Ju-87 Stuka’s siren has been updated. The pitch of the siren now depends on the aircraft’s speed.

This is an absolute blessing.

Many of us had been waiting for this for 9 years… since 2017, back when the Regenerative Steering suggestion was first passed to the developers.

Finally, modern tanks actually drive and feel like modern tanks and not 1920s tractors.

If you are going to subject the full implementation to a vote, I hope the community will do the right thing and vote in favour of it.

Type 10’s turn is still way too tight for whatever reason, but much better than Live server.

Leopards drive so smooth and amazingly… not a single KM/H is lost on turns anymore!

Can someone confirm can you still sparrowroll those missiles in the dev build? I would like to believe they finally fixed it after all those years… But it could be completely unrelated change.

Does this apply to type 10 as well? They just loose so much speed and do a full stop
