It’s Malachite not Monolite. I once saw somebody found papper on the test results of an unnamed ERA that, based on the information present in the papper(including images) it was recognized as Malachite. And the results were underwhelming. I will try to find it but won’t promise I’ll be able to, since it was long ago.

So it is actually a paper about simulations not exatly ERA test, but eventually a real life model with actual ERA was built and tested.

Wouldn’t it be 80% as effective as Duplet? Taking the 3BM42/DM33 row for reference, Duplet stands for 60% while Nizh – 50%, therefore Nizh module is 80% as effective (as per brochure) as Duplet’s. Idk how to word it properly, but essentially if we take Nizh protection value as a 100% (which is 50 against aforementioned rounds), then Duplet providing 10 more protection (which is 60) means it is 20% more efficent as 10 points are 1/5th of 50?

Given your well-documented and historic inability to accept any non-russian armour array as achieving it’s claimed values… you’d probably have lots of questions about anything that wasn’t made in Uralvagonzavod.

Yes there is contradictory info out there but I have based this analysis on a lot of what you yourself have said in the past.

Well I’ve got to try and put myself in your shoes for a moment.

If it’s from the Russian state and/or a Russian state enterprise then of course you will accept any and all figures given as if they are etched into stone tablets.

If it’s from a Western Source then you’ll either state it can’t be true or that it must be overestimated because such a thing doesn’t exist in Russia. Or indeed ‘it looks like Russian equivalent so it must be the same’. Igla and Stinger incident say hi.

I don’t think that’s correct. No one discusses ERA protection without mentioning its key elements, which affect its effectiveness.

Again, the figure of 280 is based on data for the Duplet-2M; I don’t want to revisit that, since it’s constantly criticized as a “downgraded version.”

Well fair, but the covers and fillers between elements in the game are modelled separately and effect the projectile on top of the ERA protection. 15mm cover, ERA, 35mm structural steel, ERA.

I think 280mm, while being a nerfed figure, is a value we can use to estimate the value of Nizh. Both in Mikrotek and UAM Brochures Nizh is close to the effectiveness of Duplet, be it 80% or 90%. I don’t think at least the value of Nizh should be lower than 240ish mm. And if we ever see corrected Duplet values closer to 340-360mm, then Nizh should be modelled to have above 300mm KE protection.
