RedEffect made a GREAT video about the armor plate on the face of the hull, I really wants people to take a look at it (only 75k views…)
It explins that for some reason it is maybe missing on some T84 IRL and Gaijin didn’t put it in. But My point of view is that in the case of ERA we saw that loads of T series died because their relikt and Contakt were empty or filled with isolant or stupid things, but it still is explosive in game.
My point is that production takes out some details and we still put them in game so why not that plate…
In general, if the BTVT diagram is correct, then the 50mm plate should certainly be there. The problem is that I never provided a full version of the diagram to confirm its accuracy.
However, the problem will remain – since there are photos from tests where the 3BM42 penetrated the UFP up to the rear layer, changing the armor composition will not change the overall protection. The settings will remain such that a hit in the game will replicate the test result.
Pls fix the era and put it at 12.7 or put it at 12.0 as it currently is. The armor is unreliable compared to the T-80U-E1, especially the side era. The acceleration is slower as well.
At this point it feels like a side grade to the T-80U-E1
Aren’t those were done on bare base layer of UFP without separation 50mm plates? I only saw base Nizh test not Duplet ones. If you have material confirming there were tests done on “full” package I kindly ask to provide them.
So my main concern is that Oplot sits 12.3 while T-80U is 11.7 with better UFP protection. T-80U-E1 is 12.0 and has 50 more BHP. Same gen thermals. Pretty much same pen value dart. But overall T-80 is better in comparison with Oplot.
