The Bf 109 Es are underrated

T2 seems pretty fun.

So of course it’s behind a paywall.

F me.

I agree, but i don’t want it to go up because it’s the only plane I have with a K/D higher than 5

I really think you’ll enjoy it and won’t be disappointed. To show Gaijin there’s still demand for lower-tier stuff, please buy it!

The Bf 109 K-4 is easily the strongest late-war 109. Superb aero, amazing visibility from the cockpit…

I love it that in sim, I can’t play my Bf 109 K-4 or Ta 152 H1 except for 2 days in the week. Every other day looks like this unless I am super lucky.

I don’t know what is it about the G-14 in sim, but I find them weirdly nose heavy and super easy to put into a spin compared to the 109 K-4 or 109 F-4 OR the Il2:GB’s own 109 G-6 (late).

It might just be lack of experience with them in Warthunder though as 5.0 is also a cursed BR (Ki-84, Spit Lf Mk IX), 5.7 has 109 K-4 so why fly the gustav and 5.3 days are 4.0 days so why fly the gustav when i can fly 109 F4? (and also, 4.7 is perfect F-4 territory so no G-6 reason either)

I really need to get back to playing props, i haven’t touched props much since around a year and a half ago.
Though from what I’ve heard, stuff like the fireball are ruining the 4.3 bracket where a lot of 109s sit so I’m not too fussed

yaks are just op. period.

4.0-4.3 bracket has been dead for quite some time due to Pay2winnin’s Yak-3 and normal Yak-3 anyway.

underrated yes, under BRed? Ask the 3.7 compression

Honestly, the Bf 109 E-4 should be 4.0 and the T-2 should be 4.3.

G2 used to be my favorite 109 at that br until I met with Kurfüst series.

Wish Gaijin could add more K variants, I’m still waiting for a day to see K-8/10/14 in this game, especially K-14 which was a high altitude beast.

The K-14 was almost completely fictional / barely existed at all.
Adding it would be just as stupid as adding the Ostwind II.
There are plenty of actual, historical weapons that deserve to be added instead.

Wrong.

K-14 was actually produced and delivered to certain squadron. 2 of them saw combat.

Could you share the source? But spare me the “first flight in 1946” joke — heard it a million times.

The source was shared on old forum by Messerschmitt with the suggestion iirc, sadly we dont have access to that information anymore unless suggestion transferred to new forum.

That’s a shame. I’ll look into it myself, but… man, the Bf 109 with a four-bladed prop is seriously cool. It’d be awesome if we could find an actual photo of it someday, but let’s talk about that later. Anyway, the BR for the Bf 109 E series definitely needs to go up.

I don’t know anything about current E series performance but i think K-4 can get some love and br reduction.

btw really nice how the k-4 has 10k SL repair cost

Had a random youtube short show up in my feed.

The claim: “Bf 109s in Warthunder have broken leading edge slats that don’t work.”

hint: they work just fine. Just the instructor doesn’t pull enough AoA to make them deploy.

Pictured: Bf 109 G-14 with slats deployed.

In the Bf 109G, thanks to its automatic leading-edge slats, there is a genuine chance to outperform the P-51D or P-47 in the low-speed regime… though to be honest, that’s more or less the only meaningful advantage it has.
