The battle tasks promote antisocial gaming

I think that’s called can do approach? There’s a ground version to get a kill with TD/heavy/medium I think.

Either way, very stupid task even if “easy”

I think it was @Real_K_Soze who pointed this out to me last time people were discussing the daily objectives.

The core component of war thunder gameplay is destroying enemy vehicles. It’s why people start playing the game, it’s why people keep playing the game.

The sole purpose of objectives in this game whether they are capture points, daily tasks, battle pass objectives or wagers, is to encourage players to be aggressive or reckless. The goal of the reckless play is to get people to move around as opposed to camping. The result is a reliable source of income for patient players.

It has nothing to do with teamwork, the community or grieving.

And how can this be done on Japanese planes on any rank, for example, or on Israeli aircraft without rank 6 jets? This is a great example of a BP task, invented by a dumb clerk who has never played the game.

But even if you have prepared a good setup of 2 fighters, 2 bombers and 2 attack aircraft, no one guarantees that you will get maps where the task can be completed.

Once I got a task for 6 bases and what did I get on BR 3.3? Denmark, Peleliu, etc. where there are no bases at all! I always play until the end, not leaving the battle as long as I have planes, even if the team is losing and there is no chance of winning. But after the 5th map without bases, even I began to think about leaving immediately and I am sure that not everyone is so patient.

I’ve played a lot of different games, different genres and in my opinion the tasks in BP WT are done disgustingly.

It kind of has the opposite effect though. Completing daily BP tasks as a normal player (i.e: playing 1-2 hours max on a weekday evening) who plays enduring confrontation is very difficult to impossible (because if you complete an easy task, you don’t get a medium task mid-EC). This means your limited 1-2hours of gameplay must be broken up into playing another mode (thus reducing playercount from your main mode which if we look at relative numbers ends up being more impactful) and depending on task difficulties/battle RNG - end up having no time to play your desired game mode. Result, after trying and repeatedly running out of time?

Stop playing warthunder for a few months because it just makes you angry, then ignore BP’s existence.

Yeah I had that 6 bases task as well, yet it’s so rare to get normal ground attack maps sometimes, just matches and matches of airfield capture.

When I finally get to a normal map, enemy fighters activaly hunt for bombers and I barely got 2 done, but then in a match where nobody bothered to climb I managed to bomb all 4.

Other games have BP progression based on scores that you get by playing whatever way you want, but for Gaijin I fear that they will just make the score requirement too high for having any fun like the current events when it’s a high tier reward…

IMO you can change the daily task’s to fit your play style and same with special task’s for example I like ARB,SB so I will carter my task for something I know can do with very little effort for example for a basic task, if get shoot down 3 planes with a fighter I chose a plane I know I can pretty much do that in one match. For the BP challenges they are made for all players hence why they cover all aspects such as AIR,GROUND&SEA

Yep, I look at all the modes, and pick the easiest task, and if it doesn’t suit I then cycle my favorite mode a couple of hits, then if it hasn’t given me anything ‘good’ I’ll then cycle my next favorite mode.

I don’t usually end up with anything really difficult.

Yeah its the best way to do it no point trying to do a task that doesn’t suit your gameplay. NGL sometimes the re-roll’s for the task’s can be against you but that’s any RNG element which we all know a “D20 can be with you or not” =)

If I could roll and see both the easy and medium task for ASB (and ASB only), a lot of my complaints would fade. The current system doesn’t work with 1-2 hour long games as you cannot see your second task for the day unless you ditch the lobby (I can’t remember if the lobby needs to conclude for it to count or not). If you only got 1-2 hours to play, it becomes a choice of “do I have fun?” or “do I go play GRB and one-death leave completions.”

It’s especially grating if, during your 2 hour match, would have completed the task the medium task you were shown after “get reward”-ing on the post-battle report (say, you got 15 kills covering both the easy and medium task, but because match took 2 hours you only completed the easy task say, 30 minutes in and made zero progress in the second 90 minutes)

What I normal do is do my daily easy and medium task’s in ARB and do my Special task’s in Sim as Special task’s are the longest and not always possible to do in ARB in a oner also, I feel my 1st post can be applied here as you can very easily do the task in ARB with a hour two if your luck enough to get right task’s for example the “Warrior” task for easy version is to shoot down 3 planes in fighter for the medium version its 12.

Imho you miss the main point why BP tasks (=challenges) exist in the first place:

…your “anti-social behaviour” perception looks like a very narrow view on things.

Imho the above mentioned reasons for BP challenges apply also (to a large degree) for daily & special tasks.

As soon as you allow gaijin to steer your in-game activities you have already lost control. From my pov special tasks make sense if you want to get rather quick to level 50 (free price) or 80 (war bond level 5) - anything else is just a waste of time.

If done at prop brackets, that’s easily a 20 minute game doing something that’s not my intent to do for the day. Especially if in the mood for american props (they handle much, much nicer without the instructor’s limits/rudder handling), my attempts at using the Mustang Ia in RB have not been fun. In SB, it’s a very fun plane.

So it presents the issue raised: Either play what you consider fun and be punished because the match lasts 1/2 hours and thus doesn’t give you the medium task or lose precious time playing something you don’t enjoy.

IFRC you can turn the instructor off in all game modes.

Cool story (not).

Yesterday I changed the special task until 5 GE (I will never pay you a cent more than I paid for the BP itself, so far I see payment buttons everywhere and all the time, even though I play with PA).

It was: 80 fighters (long), 4 wins in 1-2 place (potentially long due to unpredictability, like any win-condition), 3 wins with the achievement for BR 1+ kill (even more unpredictable), 80 fighters again, some crap like win + Alpha and omega (what genius even came up with such a condition?) etc.
And only today, with the second roll, I got an Aerial Superiority that was acceptable for me.

So that you get paid a salary with the same RNG.

It seems you don’t even realize how annoying it is, considering that people paid for BP. Personally, I paid and you can easily verify this.

In World of Warcraft I did 20 (twenty) daily quests in less than 2 hours and during that time they were guaranteed to be completed, except for server problems, which happened rarely.

Gaijin should learn how to make content that is enjoyable or at least neutral, and not annoying.

Flying with full-real puts you at a disadvantage against planes with mouse aim though (much less effective gunrange - 300 meter shots vs regularly 1km shots) and again, that still remains “play RB before you play SB”.

And this 1-2 hours means you have no time left to play SB if it’s a regular weekday evening (weekday defined as “workday” in event it falls on weekends).

too many win related tasks ngl. I stg these 85% activity win tasks are the most common

they just need to scrap the daily tasks and replace them with something like the squadron activity thingy. 15k mission points a day perhaps.

I mean you can make it fit your play style within reason also, the ownership is on yourself if you start spending GE/SL trying to re-roll tasks as I said its game of chance that’s down to your own free will.
also I gave my opinion from my time playing the game and grinding the BP.
Hence why I said IMO.

I have nothing to do with game development I work with the forum side of things.

No. Because I can’t choose the task I like myself. In fact, there are options:

  • Try to do what they gave
  • Reroll for SL / GE without guarantees of getting a normal task
  • “Just pay” (buy a BP level)
  • Ignore BP

However, you represent the interests of Gaijin and act here on its behalf, and you are written accordingly.
