Yes I clearly saw that, I’m the writer of that report, I mean that report has already have what your change needed, it has estimated protection value, more than 2 secondary sources, 1 for armor value and 1 for hull armor type. I don’t think that is not enough for you to make ANY changes, you can change the WAR kit armor value, hull armor type or turret armor value. ANY one of these change can make Ariete better than now.

Sadly that is not down to me to decide and as the Devs have said, they currently do not have enough from it to make changes from. As per the response earlier. So it’s not just a case of disagreeing with that assessment unfortunately.

I would like to add that your report includes a parliamentary hearing and manufacturer data saying the hull has composite armor and they say they can’t change anything 😂

So how many sources Devs need? 5 more? What type of sources? like armor value? structure of the armor pack? You know we can’t get any type of that sources, and that report is the most complete data we can use for now. Devs can depend on those data to change the Ariete first, then they can correct any incorret part once they have more effective data. Isn’t that good?

The best solution for now is to open another report attaching old and new sources that confirm the anti-ke nature of the WAR kit.
Remember to highlight every sentence that confirm this so there’s no margin for error and translate everything as accurately as possible.
Changing the value of the WAR kit is way easier than changing the entire model before the update and secondary sources about this kit are now easier to find as the new AMV is entering production and can mount both the WAR and PSO without breaking down its engine.
When the report is complete attach a link here so as many people can participate and add additional sources to support the report.
@Smin1080p_WT can you confirm again that secondary sources will be accepted for this report as primary sources are still under national secret? Otherwise the report will be inevitably closed with no chance of reply.

Makes sense, maybe a report exclusively focused on the WAR kit might be worth the try.

Providing they are not from Encyclopedia sources or third party sources like blogs, at least two agreeing secondary sources (though ideally the more the better) should be fine for the report to be passed on.
Authored works (secondary source): Reference books on collections of vehicles/aircraft/ships (‘coffee table books’), biographies, specialist books, “expert” opinion publications, industry magazines etc. At least two unrelated sources required.

Are these enough for WAR? I remember that I tried to report it on the old forum, but it was rejected as CBR asked for exact values.

As the new AMV is entering production and new media tools are avaiable we have clearer images of the Ariete to compare with the model we have in game.
Here I compared the top-down drone shot from the CIO Otomelara site with a replica shot of the in-game model.
Even accepting some error margin we can clearly see where the construction lines matches ( blue lines) and where the welding lines does not (red lines):
This shows a possible different layout of the internal plates on the front part compared to the in game model.
Maybe this can help for future reports about the front armour of the Ariete when coupled with other sources or to boost current open report about this topic.

WAR kit, TES kit, TUSK kit, PSO kit, and every other western armor package is absolutely garbage in war thunder and its absolutely arbitrary, some of these packages cant even stop a 1960 rpg7

WAR though is not the same as PSO, it’s specifically made to protect the turret against more modern KE threats.

Except 11.7/12.0 Arietes, Italy has some pretty decent higher tier. Freccia is probably the best autocannon vehicle in the game and is worth trying out.

I can agree that the 25mm KBA is such a good autocannon. I’ve just spaded my VBC PT2.

Hi @Smin1080p_WT, as the update drops tomorrow can we know if the sources posted by @YaSen are acceptable to start a new report on the WAR kit for the Ariete? Just to know before this post will be closed with all the others related to this dev session.
