Mentioning T-90A doesn’t help Leo 2K, AMX-40, FV4030/3, Leopard 2AV… it just shows T-90A should be with its equals at 11.0.
I like the 10.0 France lineup myself. I’m actually going to get Vextra because of the changes made.
It does feel quite overtired, I just treat it as a horribly overtiered leopard 1 but man full up tiers are rough.
I don’t quite get why the amx-40 is at 10.0 and the leopard with the 120mm gun is at 9.3 though. They both have 120mm guns, they both have 1st generation thermals, they both have armour that is pretty much non-existent at their brs. I must be missing something as I just don’t get it.
I have to agree. I don’t see the point of BR bump, especially now because it sees 11.0. Not to mention they dragged another vehicle up for absolutely no reason. It was more than fine at 9.7. Both of them were.
The Leopard A1A1 with less mobility, even less armor, no 20mm coax.
If you have an argument on why Leo 1A5 et all, AMX32s, etc should be 9.7 instead, especially as drastically inferior things are 9.0 now… I’d love to hear that perspective.
The only valid argument here being the mobility. Both have armour that withstands no shots at all. At least the amx 40 has blowout panels for ammo. The 20mm is literally useless since HVAP is just shattering on everything.

Don’t have access to the game at the moment, the armour difference doesn’t seem that dramatic but yeah, the amx-40 has a dramatically better engine. You over estimate the usefulness of the 20mm, lol. It shatters in a stiff breeze sadly.
The amx-40 seemed fine at 9.7 but I suppose in reality it doesn’t make a huge difference as there are hardly any 11.0 vehicles anyway.
A better round would be nice, though I don’t know if any actually existed.
Well here’s some perspective:
A round that performs >33% worse, no thermals, worse mobility sits 0.3 BR below AMX-32.
Such changes see 0.7 - 1.0 across the tech trees usually.

French tanks are just discriminated against. Look at AMX-30 1972. The only advantage it has over t-44 100 is mobility and its 1 BR higher
T90A as well as th3 ztz99 II / III and mbt2000 should all really be 11.3.
The shir 2 should lose L23 as well technically as it was cancelled 4 years before l23A1 even went into service

People are quick to hate on French BRs because they’re use to them being OP.
You know what tank has garnered zero topics despite being over-BR’d? T-55AMD/AM1.
Now, is that because all other 9.0s should be 9.3 or is that because T-55AMD/AM1 should be 8.7 with its equals?

I can set aside my bias and be like: “AMX-40’s equals are at least 10.0, it shouldn’t be 9.7.”
Just as long as AMX-32’s equals remain 9.3 I’ll say the same thing about them.
No one complained about KV-1E being moved up, or Vextra, or T-90A, and so forth.
I get the weaknesses of AMX-40, I used it when the RP requirements were 400,000 and it’s still not spaded, though it’s almost there finally.
I understand more armor and a slightly better turret traverse + marginally better round is seen at 10.7 [Leo 2A4].
A notably better round with similar armor is seen at 10.7 [Ariete P].

Generally i believe most 9.0a should be 9.3 now in an act of decompression. The t55s moving up feels odd.
I do enjoy the french tanks tbh though i feel the amx30s are oddly balanced but un balanced.
Like i feel the 9.3s could pass as 9.7s
Vextra sadly ive not attained yet.
Its perfectly fine at 10.0

See i had a lineup of amx40 and the 30 super then the 32 m 32 105 with cas.
Now i cant be bothered usijg tbe 40 on its owm at 10.
It’s stuck in a state where it’s too good for 9.7 and feels underpowered for 10.0.
I was always using it at 10.0 with the premium heli, and it always felt great then. Nothings really changed for me.
