Mirage 4k should be 12.7 even decompressed imo, its just not a threat, magic 2s have short range and arent as flexible as aim9ms and the 530ds are a joke, that with a bad radar even if we considered 13.0 decompressed i wouldnt think it belongs there
tbf, i have more luck with the 530F nowadays, because it gives no warning and i’m facing players with worse avionics. The 530D is kinda in the middle of what a SARH can be. Launch parameters really, really affect its performance; not helping is that the jets that are at a tier where the missile can still work well have a HDN only PD radar (which i think is incorrect, as it should at least have a MTI, if not a normal MPRF PD) Although, i’ve had moments where it just shat itself and self-destructed (happens more on Skyflash tho). BUUT, we’re swerving off-topic, this thread is supposed to be abt AMRAAM
Not when it’s held back by Mach 5 headwinds.
It slows down so fast
So I just found a video that was posted by a technical moderator… ( Community Bug Reporting System )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1VFBUWkOoY
Which shows that the AIM-120 control begins mere miliseconds after launch, before the rocket motor even ignites…

Would this be enough information for a bug report to give the AIM-120 instant maneuvering post launch?
this looks like test program to check if fins are not stuck. Nothing to do with guidance
Regardless of launch parameters, the drag on the missile is insane and it usually hits a brick wall past 5 to 7 miles once the motor runs out. I wouldn’t even say it is average. As for the radar, it should have search and track in LPRF/MTI, but the 530D needs HPRF/HDN for guidance (though this is not implemented as you can guide 530D in Pulse Track mode in the game)
If you see how the fins move, the missile is aligning itself with either the target or the launch aircraft

someone actually made a bug report relating to this and it got shut down as not a bug citing the video that those images are from
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/PNpcpHo4qqyx
Yes I linked the bug report as my source for the video
man, i am just that tired then, completely looked past it
i see how the fins move, they move 100% to one side and 100% to the other. Its you seeing some kind of adjustment that really isn’t happening
Can you attach a screenshot for when it does this?
Can anyone help identify what kind of AMRAAM is in this pictures ?
its either a A or B, but they are the training variant of the missile shown by the blue stripes, as well as a full set of P-4s
You wouldn’t need to drop the missile for that, you could test control surfaces from the pylon.
Will the AMRAAMS ever get fixed, or is it Gaijin’s soviet propaganda to have the R-77-1 the best missile in the game besides the MICA?
A or B as the wings dont appear to be trimmed
They will be fixed when Gaijin releases US premium with AIM-120C5, just like Phoenixes magically were buffed based on years old reports only when premium F-14 entered the chat.
phoenixes were “buffed” the only real buff was the all aspect seeker, the rest of the rework was done poorly and leaves the missile in a pathetic state, they made its thrust abnormally low as a default, changed its trust to increase with altitude but didnt change its flight profile to loft more aggresively and hit at a more vertical angke(like we generally know phoenixes do) so the missile doesnt actually spend the majority of its burn time at altitudes where it can accelerate decently. the phoenixes are actual bricks right now, they have so little thrust they loose speed whilst burning and turning which also means it pulls much less than it used in alot of situations.
Chiming in to whine that having to use AMRAAMs on the Gripen is big time lame and boring. It really holds it back.
