The AGM-114L is a fire-and-forget air-to-ground missile. Its fire-and-forget capability stems from the millimeter-wave radar integrated into the missile, which enables it to lock onto and continuously track targets. The radar on the helicopter, by contrast, is responsible for searching for hostile targets and providing the missile with their approximate positions; whether the missile scores a hit depends entirely on the performance of its seeker radar.
We believe Gaijin should add this missile to the game. First and foremost, this mechanism is incredibly cool—especially when paired with the RAH-66’s sleek design and the missile’s impressive guidance system, it is sure to attract more fans, while also boosting the lineup strength and gaming experience of American premium players. Additionally, although the Longbow Apache in the game is equipped with the Longbow radar, it lacks the corresponding Longbow missiles. This is like a pistol without bullets, completely negating the purpose of the radar’s existence.
Second, with the AGM-179 already implemented in the top-tier battles, adding the AGM-114L (a budget version of the AGM-179) for RAH-66 and AH-64D enthusiasts will not disrupt game balance. Instead, it will enhance the richness of in-game content, as well as the game’s realism and overall player experience. In short, American faction players are eagerly anticipating the addition of the AGM-114L.
