What the hell is this.
This better not affect the older maps.
It is a terrible mechanic overall - bombers want a conclusion to their actions.
I REALLY dislike both of the below changes. Vehemently.

As far as I know, it was removed at the highest levels.
They just finally removed the remnants of that version of the game. It’s a shame because it was a better version than the respawning base mechanic.
most maps have 4 bases rather than 3 anyway.
The ones that have 3 bases are the older maps - after which you can bomb the airfield -apart from 2-3 different ones - I forget the names.
So when we say 3 base maps are going to become 4 base respawning - does this relate to to maps like Hokkaido, Britain, New Guinea etc?
Or just being vague on purpose?
I guess we will see
I played on the 3 bases Britain map a few minutes ago - still 3 bases - and the enemies managed to kill my airfield. It was a BR 3.3 - 4.3 match…
Edit:
Same as on Frontline Kursk - still 3 bases. Unclear if the bases will respawn as match ended way too fast and no team managed to kill all 3 bases.
But it looks like they had not touched the previous 3 bases maps at “regular” Prop BRs.
Base bombing reduces tickets, and I’ve won matches purely from base bombing.
On top of that, airfields never spawned for bombing in years.
Fantastic, thankyou :)
you sure? on a 4 base map?
bombers use in arb have officially died
They drain tickets, and 25 minutes is a long time to get ticket advantage for a team.
a very small amount of tickets
It is ineffective than strike aircraft(Killing ground targets) or a fighter(killing enemy planes) in the same BR.
Yes, Gaijin just gelded the only way of bomber contributes to victory.
(Even though destroying the airfield itself was hard)
Yes.
Correction: You won the match purely by freeriding the team.
For example, if you fly IL-2 instead of Yer-2, you can be way better at decreasing tickets because
-Low-altitude carpet bombing is risky
-High altitude bombing is inaccurate.
So, Hyperbolically, Every bomber player is are dead-weight in the team, and contributes to losing by doing nothing.
@Stockholm_Blend
IDK about being top 5 of a team of 16 being “free riding”, and in some cases the #1 on the leaderboard in score.
In even rarer cases I was the last one alive.
Not a bomber, but was forced to play strike aircraft…
I was in my F-104S post-nerf on Mozdok. It was still 10.7 at the time, but it couldn’t turn in an over-performing way anymore.
Mig-21Bis fragged the last dude.
Easy loss if I let him get in gun range… or I could bleed tickets and get a W for my team instead, which I did.
One example out of hundreds where ticket advantage won matches from base bombing, and strike missions.
This was all after respawning bases were introduced to the game of course.
Respawning bases allowed for deeper ticket bleed from base bombing, which is the real reason the timer was increased.
I still wish Gaijin just put a ticket up system or increased ticket amount instead of just nerfing base spawn time.
It is hard, but when it happens it is great.
Some bombers I’ve done it in thus far:
B-66B [arcade, failed attempt because I was eating dinner which slowed me down].
Yak-28 over 10 times.
Buccaneer S2 over 5 times.
I’ve done it in far more, but those memories have faded.
The recipe is usually fast bombers, but clearly speed isn’t the only way as your match illustrates.
Base bombing gives a drastic score.
If I flew Milan and did nothing but destroy 4 bases in a match in an 8.7-9.7 match
My teammates will literally get slaughtered because I didn’t do dogfighting as the top dog of the team
But I might be in #3 on the scoreboard.
Yeah, If I spaceclimb with Lancaster or Tu-4, I usually can be the last one alive.
(Unless I got caught by Vautour IIN’s R.511 SARH while flying with Tu-4)
The Problem of ‘classical bombers’ which got led to the removal of airfield destruction in this update.
It usually can’t contribute better than strike aircrafts in the same BR.
Strategic bombers, which are fitted to destroy an airfield (with a heavy payload), are forced to take disadvantage of the base reward multiplier. because Gaijin punishes player who carries a payload which requires more than destroying 1 base (AFAIK, est 25k dmg)
Yes, Bomber can still do some futile-ish resistance in current circumstances.
G8N, Be-6 or Lincoln might be an example of that.
Still, it won’t change the fact that Gaijin just removed what bombers do best.
and made them as inferior strike aircrafts.
I barely care since it will give help me grind more sl and rp :D
@Stockholm_Blend
I’ve space climbed in exactly one bomber, and that’s when there was an in-air rearming icon in air RB.
I’ve never space climbed since. Space climbing is less rewards per minute.
And no, Gaijin hasn’t removed bases. They made matches last longer which helps teams get more rewards.
Space climbing is only one of many applications of heavy bombers.
Problem is that 99% of players cant comprehend anything else other than spawn - then point nose at base and hold W until they die.
Many bombers can operate under the radar - such as Lancaster/Shackleton etc - obv not B29 or Lincoln though.
If I can drop 4 tons of bombs and survive - I am certainly contributing far more than 6 fighters who charged into headons and died within 3 minutes and left.
Anyhow - we have had 4 base respawns for YEARS now - It really angered me when they done it but I had to accept it - As long as they dont do the same to the old maps like Malta, Hokkaido, Britain, New Guinea etc etc - - If they do not change these old maps then what exactly does this new base mechanic pertain to?
