The A1E1, the independent, a heavy tank designed by the british from the interwar period that had one particular feature that made it different from other tanks from the time, crew Compartmentalization, the Independent is one of the few designs during the interwar period that actually took crew conditions into account, meaning that the engine had it’s own compartment away from the crew.
if we take a look at a screenshot i took, you can see the frontal armor plate all the way from the transmission of the tank. there should be a armored plate there separating the engine from the crew, similarly to how it is on the A13 tanks.
The tank musseum has a really good video talking about the Independent, in the video, they go over everything, armor protection and layout of the tank included, here’s a link to the video if you’re interested:
In the same video, they also show a diagram, that shows how the internal conpartments of the tank are possitioned! The tank in war thunder simply does not have a inside.
Unironically the independet is compartmentalized just like a battle ship, and the tank we have in game has none of it, which is a shame considering it’s a premium vehicle, images inside the tank also give us an idea of how it’s internal “walls” are positioned:

there’s also the original diagram of the tank, that shows how the interior layout should be:
So the independent is missing the main thing that made it special and a innovative design from the other tanks at the period, what needs to be done is the proper modeling of the vehicle, and the adding of it’s internal walls, also the tank in game is really is really not looking great pieces of the roof armor are literally clipping inside the tank:
It’s a pretty expensive premium 2100 GE, and as a premium product, that me and other people had/have to pay for, it’s not looking great.
