I just absolutely LOVE fighting, and being paired with Super Sonic Swing Wing planes 20 years newer than my plane, in a Modified plane from 1948 turned into a Test bed never meant for combat with garbage missiles, The gameplay is so Fun and Engaging. Especially when you have totally BRICKED the Swifts Aiframe into a mess that can’t turn, is slower than every F-86 and Mig-15, let alone what it fights now, and can’t even hit a thing anymore due to nerfs to ADENs.
The LEAST you could do is Swap out the useless F.7 Swift, with the F.4.
The ACTUAL last Combat built Variant of the plane, And the Fastest, Most agile, heaviest armed, Everything about the F.4 would ACTUALLY fit the game.
You should be more annoyed at facing MiG-21S’s, Hunter F.58s, or in some cases the Av-8s, because those are just better.
I’d rate the Q-5A and L above the 23BN personally. They’re just more consistent and can handle facing planes higher than 9.7.
It does not help the F.7 one bit that they don’t Model the F.7 with its Variable tail, it DID have one, a VERY good one, The holes are even there on the model for the Mechanism, but they don’t model it.
When the Swifts Received that Variable tail it completely changed the plane, it took like 6 seconds off the planes turn time, Leaving it matching with the later meteor Variants basically, its even talked about how in Moc dogfights that the Swifts that had RECIEVED That Variable tail, were able to fly Circles around the Meteors.
The F.4 ALSO had this variable tail, but wasn’t weighed down by all the extra Missile equipment that the F.7 has, So it was even MORE agile with that tail.
First off, Mig-23BN is hilarious bad for a supersonic “fighter”.
Second:
Mig-23 1967 and without air to air weapons.
Swift F7: 1956.
11 year difference.
Swift F7 also dogfights better than the Mig-23BN if you cite the BN’s gun.
The F.7 is simply just a Modification of a Aircraft that first flew in 1948. Get yah facts straight.
Even then the Original Swift as it was named, first went into Production in 1951 so…
Plus the Swift was reitred from RECON service the same year The Mig-23 started production, so SHUT IT.
The Swift Was already out of date enough that it wasn’t even useful as a Recon aircraft, when the Mig-23 started production.
There were Swifts already in MUSEUMS when the Mig-23 started production.
And the Mig-23BN is an F-102 with swing wings and bombs technologically speaking. A mach 1.7 aircraft with no air to air missiles and no dogfight capability.
Your post’s attempted movement of goalposts is easily countered with a similar argument.
Okay lets change it again because i just wanna spite your ass.
Why the hell am i spawning on the Ground, in a INTERCEPTOR meant to hunt TU-4s and shit, while Trainer aircraft with bombs, and basically Aim-9Gs, get to spawn nearly 10km ahead of us, and in the air.
Imagine calling AIM-9Bs “basically AIM-9G”… that alone ruins your post.
Also bombs that can’t bomb a base. [Bases require 1350kg of explosive filler, this is knowledge everyone that plays War Thunder to jets knows.]
Oh oh Oh When USSR vehicles from 1945-1950 needs to go down Oh oh oh BAD big BAD, Welcome to War thunder, The place where your one week after WW2 protoype fights the Leopard 1 and the Adram and Leopard 2 predecessor, Welcome to the Snail protecting player and lying on your face, And remember, a Real life vehicle that was OP is turn shit because everbody swarms it and raises it.
But no one plays the F.7, BECAUSE IT IS JUNK.
That is kinda the entire reason its stuck at 8.7, because no one plays it enough to convince gaijin its bad.
The F.1 is decent, due to it not having to deal with the 9.7 Hell hole, But the F.7 is just total junk.
But the F.1 is also WAY easier to fly, its far more receptive to inputs, and actually does what you tell it to do.
Because almost all jets don’t need airspawns. Plus, that thing only has Aim-9Bs and 6 total pylons, and it has relatively meh flight performance for 8.3 as well.
@AlvisWisla If you take a full bomb load without gunpods, it’s able to because I’ve seen it happen.
The fireflashes were nerfed somewhat recently such that they have around 2s delay between going in a straight line and actually being able to be controlled.
Not only that, most aircraft around that BR got artificially nerfed because most of the Korean-Era jets (like F-86 / MiG-15) all went down in BR.
I agree that the Swift F.7 is kinda lackluster now.
However, I’m not sure if it would be fair for the Swift F.1 and F.7 to go down to 8.0 and 8.3 respectively.
And no, ADENs are still very potent, especially if you have 4x of them.
2x is kinda mediocre, but it definitely is still good enough compared to other armaments, like 6x 50.cals.
As for other jets, the Scimitar is really good in GRB, and does somewhat well in ARB.
The Meteor Mk.8 / Mk.3 are still very good too.
Not only that, But they don’t have a Proximity fuse anymore from my testing, or if they do its busted.
IT seems like you have to get direct hits for them to do anything.
One of the bomb types was nerfed in 2023, and that made it just below the auto-bleed.
Before the nerf it barely reached auto-bleed.
Not that I can see.
Unless these guys haven’t updated it since the changes (which I really doubt), it still has the proxy (of 10m):
It also has the actual start delay too:
Edit:
Yup, it still has the proxy fuze:
If anyone wants a example of HOW good the Variable tail was, look at the Javelin in game, it has basically the same system, look how WELL that fat as hell plane can turn.
Just don’t play it :kek:
/s
Not how that works.
No it is.
Literally, the same thing has happened with the Chieftain Mk3. its A BAD tank.
Yet a few people do play it, and like it. Those players are very good players, who inflate the stats to a point that Gaijin thinks the tank is doing too well, and up its BR.
