Testing Nuclear Escalation in Simulator Battles!

You can shift your pilots’s viewpoint in cockpit, but you need to do this every time you spawn…

Will anyone in their right mind actually play this, when the standard simulator is so much better?

But,

It’s kinda hard to play if you aren’t able to see the HUD.

It’s an issue on a lot of aircraft, and a lot of strike aircraft.

I fly in SIM exclusively, mostly strike aircraft, in VR, and don’t know a case where the head position really hinders me - but I shift my viewpoint to the front a bit, as it’s usually modelled to far back, and in very few aircraft (A-10) also a bit upwards.

In none of those cases I don’t see the HUD, or have the HUD cut off uncomfortably.

Oh, this is beautiful! Even though the defenses might be broken, they remembered that there are people who play Simulator mode. I’m going to take advantage of these days in Nuclear Thunder like I never have before. I really hope they can keep it permanent; it can be improved over time, but those of us who play SIMULADOR need some fresh air too!

YESSSS Thats WHAt weve been waiting for

  1. No long-range radars that can show enemies on the map?
  2. SAM sites have unlimited ceiling and can shoot down space stations?
  3. Planes still have regular air mode BRs and Yak-28B is on the same BR as J-22? (Just why? Why do you hate this bomber, Gaijin? Its a dumb bomber, it can’t even CCRP/CCIP)
  4. No early jets/strategic bombers BR bracket?
  5. I am silver-broke now, lol

This’ll be an absolute nightmare with the omnipotent AA

Yak-28B is good bomber. I played with it a lot. Problem is that NE is terrible.

Its worse than Tu-95 that sits 0.7 lower… And I would say its worse than Tu-15/Il-28 in regular SB as well. Or at least not worse, but its similar.

Its just useless. You can’t even use it as a high-altitude bomber cuz SAMs can shoot down space stations, despite… not being able to do so in real life…

Literally not true. It have amazing acceleration, speed and climb rate for that BR and with bomb sight you can bomb accurately from high altitude.

This is problem with NE. In normal sim its great.

Bro, literally if you don’t play with VR, there are some control axes you have to assign manually. Let me introduce you to ‘HEAD MOVEMENT’. Create a comfortable setup so you can use it with your keyboard, or you can get creative there. You just need to assign ‘UP/DOWN’ and ‘LEFT/RIGHT’, and in the settings menu for each axis, set it to ‘relative control’ so the movement is smooth. That way, you can move your view much more comfortably inside the cockpit of any plane

Oh, and it’s worth adding that you can zoom out the cockpit camera to a panoramic view so it’s not so close to you. You can find this by searching for ‘cockpit view’ and lowering the multiplier to 0

Also, please correct me if that wasn’t the point you were looking for. I think I understand now; what’s actually happening is that when you move your view up, the HUD on some planes disappears. That’s a pretty critical issue right there, lol. Please Gaijin, it’s true, fix it

The thing with Sim multipathing is, dampening modes and even level flight mode do not fly straight. In a lot of aircraft the dampening/leveling modes actually pitch the nose down. So flying close to the ground becomes dangerous when doing things like checking your map, or using a guided weapon camera. Anything over 2 seconds of diverting your eyes from flight, can result in death.

Even with trimming, it can be dangerous, and trimming doesn’t work with the dampening modes.

RB/Mouse-aim players can use these weapons on other camera modes with no worries. Their plane just flies straight. I would love to have that ability in Sim, where it seems almost impossible on many aircraft, even when we’re focusing our energy on trimming for straight flight.

It is weird how level flight seems like this hard to achieve thing in Sim. It can’t be like that in real life…

TrackIR players can’t do this. Or did they change something?

It’s current state is too brutal under Sim settings.

  1. The SAM network is too aggressive when field-of-view is limited in the cockpit. Plus its not realistic where SAM networks will just spam missiles at every target they track as that will expose them to counter-attacks, and also deplete their arsenal storage without making any impact on taking out the enemy. It becomes annoying to get tracked and fired on when taking off from the runway. This has been my main issue with all NE versions regarding the AI. It should only launch when you enter their own airspace, and when it is within their airspace as a strong possibility of a kill.

  2. Too many SAM SPAA types to deal with when visibility is restricted. You cannot copy/paste the same gameplay settings from RB and expect them to work for Simulator. Please consider the difficulty of flying the aircraft, the lack of 360 degree visibility, many aircraft in these BRs that lack SAM warning detection for their cockpit/HUD, and using the various weapon controls under Simulator settings. Overwhelming the player is not fun, especially in lower BRs where technology is limited. More so since you have this under Useful Actions as deaths are brutal, and getting wasted by multiple SAMs is not a great experience since we lack the surroundings to track every threat (unlike AB/RB mode).

  3. Because this is Sim, it lacks makers and that increases the difficulty to know the positions of certain threats. A solution would be introducing electronic intelligence to areas of importance. The red circle we see on the map in the SEAD event should be good enough to mark locations that are spotted to be aware of any SAM threat. Also consider adding a task with new mechanics for those who want to scout and support their team. This can also be included for helicopters down the road once they are implemented in this game mode.

  4. I’m not enjoying the ARM loadouts as certain aircraft have limited mechanics currently when displaying this weapon properly in their HUD UI under the Sim settings. ARM types have always been a problem for many aircraft in Sim because of the lack of HUD support. This needs to be corrected first before moving forward with a Sim NE version. Its just frustrating to properly verify if you’re tracking the correct threat, and not a friendly SPAA unit.

Waiting for suffering? Because thats exactly what it is.

Why on earth 11.7 f111f faces 13.0 f2a adtw?

So you can suffer even more.

also if they’re keeping the Useful Actions mechanics depots and air defense units should be permanently eliminated or make it repaired in longer time interval like 30mins or 45mins, like once you had destroy them once right now it’ll take like 15-20 mins until depots rebuilt and that’s like 1 and half or 2 Useful Actions
