Testing Nuclear Escalation in Simulator Battles!

What do you mean you don’t like having your aircraft “”“realistically”“” limited but the AA defenses work as they were brought out from a nationalist movie with 0 limitations and even eyeball Mk.IV being able to detect stuff that not even radars can detect??

It already is bs in third person now imagine having to rely on free-camera, mirrors and your rwr display

Thats cool. So what do i do about the 3-4 km altitude cloud cover then? Guess I’m dropping blind?

I really hope the ticket count for sim NE gets increased so matches can go on for multiple hours like they do in sim EC.

How to notch if two different sites are launching at you?

Tbh, not really. I can’t be bothered to setup my HOTAS for such a buggy gamemode, plus working loads the next few days so won’t have time anyway

Let alone the buggy, broken cockpits

That may work in the RB version, but this version is using the Useful Actions system. Under this system, death punishes you and will hurt your earnings. The J-out method won’t work!

RB gets Nuclear Escalation
SB gets Nerfed Escalation

WTH is going on here anyways?

The humble F/A-18E super hornet exist

Eh, I love sim don’t get me wrong, but I’m just gonna say skill issue on myself, and say no. I’m assuming you just changing the game mode which means that you have so much situational awareness (which is countered by sim) and multipathing in NE (which is crazy dangerous in Sim). You would have to cut all the AAA in half to even come close to be enjoyable.

So will the 10 hawk missiles pinging your RWR after takeoff.

I just engaged in a BR10.0-11.0 battle using F4E. It was extremely thrilling. I fired the AGM45 at SA8 near the contact line, and then used the AGM65 to attack any ground targets that I could see. Then I used nuclear weapons to destroy three airfield. During the battle, I lost two Jaguars but did not lose any F4Es. However, after an hour of fighting, I was completely exhausted. The rewards I received were far too few compared to what I had sacrificed.

I think it is unrealistic to intercept enemy nuclear bombers from the air. Once there is a gap in the air defense system, they will be able to effectively destroy any airfield. By visual observation, it was discovered that the nuclear bombers entering from low altitude were extremely dangerous. And as the airfield and the rear air defense positions were destroyed, the air defense gap would further increase. If nuclear weapons are removed and conventional weapons are used to destroy specific targets on the airfield, thereby incapacitating the airfield’s operational capabilities, this might be a better option.

certainly gonna need SPAA nerfed even harder than RB does.

wen arcade too?

Hard pass.
Simulator as-is shows huge issues with many aircraft due to how HUDs are displayed, how guns fire off-bore, & incorrect default head heights in cockpits.

For vehicles like A-10 where your camera is literally in the pilot’s chest in the cockpit, & the HUD is entirely off-screen when bringing your head to max height.

Harriers with similar issues.
Then of course the F-111s that were fixed for 2 months before reverting the fix so now the gun shoots through the radar housing again, & the head height is defaulted to the chest of the pilot.

Standard sim is fun for many fighters, but for a game mode that prioritizes strike aircraft… & most strike aircraft have these major cockpit problems never fixed makes me entirely uninterested in this sadly.

Fix cockpits, head height, & make HUDs permanent fixtures to the glass of cockpits & my complaints stop.

I think we need permanent afterburner in arcade for that to be a good idea, but I think permanent afterburner should’ve been a thing in arcade since F-100 was introduced.

Why would be multipathing be crazy dangerous is sim? It’s much easier to lick the ground from cockpit view with a properly configured controllers than from external view with mouse control and instructor. I’d like to see the multipath altitude set to 30 m so there would be at least some challenge.

You can adjust your head position within your head tracking software. But I don’t see much need for it. I only really use in the planes which have a backup iron sight the look straight through the iron sight. The iron sight is a lot better as it doesn’t restrict visibility like a reflector sight or a scope.

Already said that:

Of course as it’s supposed to. They should in fact block unrealistically high head positions. It’s not an issue to begin with and hardly a huge issue. It’s ridiculous to use it as an excuse for not playing sim.

Unrealistic? Your post is calling the A-10’s basic seat position IRL “unrealistic”…

Wanting basic realism in War Thunder’s cockpits is apparently not an excuse to play sim…

“Unrealistic.”

I can’t judge it from one photo. Anyway that is one aircraft out of maybe 50 or more. There is a huge number of aircraft broken in different ways in War Thunder, and if one is giving me issues I simply play something else. Honestly I haven’t played that aircraft in years and when I did it worked just fine A2A.
