I understand being careful when you launch your missiles, and I get that missiles can track friendly targets when they lose lock. I’d also get banning people for intentionally killing team mates continually, but a day ban for 3 team kills spread out across 6 games or so seems pretty ridiculous. I was having a pretty bad day in regards to the AIM-120. I got kicked from one game for shooting 2 of the missiles at about 20,000ft from about 18 mi away in the F-15 C. They managed to somehow slam into 2 team mates. Before you guys get all riled up, no I didn’t launch at friendlies. I checked the TWS and the F15 has friend or foe distinction on it’s radar. Then about 5 games later, I launch another 120 at a Rafael peeking over a mountain wanting to shoot me. He dips below the ridge and a friendly comes flying in ofc, and the 120 just absolutely smokes him. I’m just trying t to get better at using the jet. Gaijin, how the heck am I supposed to do that if you ban me from playing your game for making a few “mistakes” which arguably can be blamed on either oblivious teammates, or the strange things you ‘programed’ your missiles to do at BVR range. On top of that, you can’t do anything about the ban. Kind of made me hate Warthunder JS.
3 kills in 6 games is a team kill every other game on average.
Thats kinda indicative that you need to be a little more cautious with your missiles.
I really don’t like how gaijin is banning players for teamkilling as of now, I personally have committed many team killing war crimes over the years especially in things like the Lancaster where it can be hard to avoid some times. I think players that team kill excessively every single match should have some sort of penalty but as of now this system is awful, especially with things out of your control like radar missiles deciding that they want to switch to a teammate that is kilometers away from the target, or a teammate flying in front of an IR missile and getting hit. Just too many factors at play to ban every player that teamkills.
Are you leading your missiles with datalink until they go pitbull on the target you designated?
To be honest, with the current state of top tier I feel like the team killing ban system could be improved by making it that if you launched at one target but the missile pitbulls on a friendly there should at least be a discount on the team killing SL penalty(make 2 categories of team killing, intentional and accidental) With the map sizes and furballs that sometimes occur in top tier even with amazing trigger discipline you are still bound to end up team killing someone with missiles on accident. This is especially a problem considering that there is quite a number of new players that don’t know missile discipline and how to not put themselves into a position where a missile might pitbull on them, resulting in them losing SL and fun.
As previously stated I tried to be lol. Sometimes it’s out of your control. Sometimes you have a bad day. I knew there would be one of you that would try to defend the snail lol.
you perfectly described why i stopped playing missile tier.
It’s not “defending the snail” when you kill a teammate in half the games you played.
It’s ridiculous, because you find this on all missiles.
I had a radar lock, solid lock, on an enemy jet, he pulled out of a turn and tried to extend. I fired an Aim-9M when he flew halfway straight and the missile went in a completely different direction.
Same with Aim-7F/M on the F-20 and the F-16…good lock, no crazy maneuvers, fired and the missile went somewhere else.
The TK system should work for the first 2 Minutes of the game to get the people that are TK because of stupidity, ignorance or intention.
After that the TK’s are penalized with SL and eventually kick from the match anyways…
Replay?
I play on console, not going to bother to find the replay in the first place as getting the link to it into this forum might prove….difficult.
However, there were 2 larger TK policy discussions and there were numerous examples of radar locks and the missile ignoring the lock and going straight for a friendly or completely going astray…
Yeah, I hold them as long as possible, but sometimes you have to pull off earlier than you might expect, it’s possible that could be my problem though.
Don’t act like you haven’t had a bad night with the missiles before man. My point is a 24 hr ban for unintentionally killing team mates seems a bit extreme. I very rarely do this. You check my record I have been playing for awhile. This has never happened before lol.
I’d have to send it once the ban is up, I can’t even get into the game lol.
Listen I don’t mean disrespect man, but averaging the kills out over the 6 games “or so” (like I stated) is an unfair way of measuring it. 1 game I tk’d twice, and 5 games later I get another tk, and I managed to kill the enemy I was actually aiming at before I was banned. You have to admit, that would be frustrating to you would it not?
I’ve team killed before, by accident ofc. Through either 120s/lancasters or recently with F&F missiles in ground rb. Some how they will sometimes track to team-mates in ground which i haven’t experienced before, But i’ve never been banned for it.
This was before and after being part of the team. From your first post it seems you’re firing missiles near friendlys which obviously not a good idea.
You should take the time off to learn about missiles and how to properly play them by watching guides or streams to avoid a further ban in the future.
You can find a few team kill threads discussing the topic on this forum already so i’ll be closing this as it’s relating to a ban. o/
