i was in game having fun but randomly friendly BUK just decided to shoot me down with multiple missiles.
It is hard to tell 100% why they did it, but I would guess that they saw the ordinance you dropped and thought they were from an enemy and tried to destroy them. However, there is also a good possibility that they just wanted to tk you.

just for context i am in Ukrainian squadron and they are in russian :| so highly possible just discrimination edit: oh and he tried to shoot me down twice when i spawned in heli
I don’t know about you, but I am not checking what squadrons my teammates and enemies are in. I would say it is most likely just a coincidence, but I guess you never know.
It looks to be accidental, because he is also locking other friendlies and launching on them as well. He launched on both the Mi-28NM and JAS39E. I think it is probably because they don’t know how to use the BUK properly.

tbh looks more like a bot as he was shooting at everything
I think he looks bot-like because he’s using a controller, which may also explain his difficulty with using the BUK.

Maybe these people should learn to use the filter and filter out friendlys??? Or better yet the snail should make it to friendlies are hidden by default

Once you set the filter, it keeps it until you change it.
absolutely, I see no reason why you would need to target or track an friendly, if the friendly is teamkilling, just let them and allow them to be booted out the game and have to pay the fine
