Team killing policy - follow up thread

I also want friendly fire to exist because I want people to fly sensibly and not spray blindly into a furball.

And barring copy paste vehicles, it’s a skill in air sim to be able to quickly identify who is friend and who is an enemy in a multi-plane fight.

This was confirmed as a bug further up. (I hope the hints in Sim too…)

Oke so how to deal with people that dont respect marks up on map, for example, I mark base I will bomb and also write in chat and then theres always a guy who just on purpose bomb that base before me… and then thats how teamkilling happens…so I wanna know since Gajin is pushing this fair-team play how to deal with that, can those people be repoerted? thanks @Schindibee

On what basis? Marking a base does not mean you “own” it. It may help other players to see if it’s worth pursuing it…

Marking a target in my opinion should always be accompanied by marking one’s own position (but sadly that’s rarely done). I do this all the time in Sim EC: Mark my target, call out “Follow me” so my position is marked as well. Like this the other players see what I plan, and where I am and can judge if they are closer to the target or should better switch to another target. So if they mark the target as well, and call out their position, and they are closer, good, no reason for me to head towards that specific target, so I go for another one.

What you for sure can’t expect is others to wait for you to reach “your” target, only because you marked it, and that one would TK because of this is not even a question that needs to be discussed.

Oke so that option is just useless in any mode except SIM? Good then I wont use it anymore. Thanks for explanation appriciate it.

How so? You can also mark the target and call out your position in RB, no?

But I see this aspect as well: Problem is that AB/RB matches are much more fast paced, with much more aircraft crammed into a very small space. This is one of the main reasons why I turned my back to it, and moved to Sim, where it’s much less of a contest who gets where first.

I mean since others wont respect it why should I do anything to hlep them? You think teamplay is only one way, me helping others?
Not how it goes… Again I have nothing against people just ignoring marks but then they should not expect me helping others in any way shape or form.
So I let my teammates die, wont help them with killing enemy plane until enemy kills them since they dont wanna help me when I mark base… simple

Juding by what the Community-Moderatos say about Teamkilling, i could imagine that your own radar missle, somehow tracking a friendly like in the screenshot, eventho you have a enemy locked or not locked anything at all, is purposefully teamkilling, deserving to be banned for at least 1 week.

As Stona said every teamkill its our fault…so yeah enjoy the ban LOL

According to some people here you shouldn’t have fired, because a friendly is nearby…

and then someone else would have complained for not helping your teammate and then reported you for unsportsman-ish behavior

But why did they even added the option to excuse yourself for a accident teamkill and have your teammate accept it, when you are still punished for it by the Moderatos anyway?

Like you accidentally let a plate drop at home, your parents saying it’s okay and not to worry about it because it can happen to all of us and is no big thing and then still punish you by not allowing you to eat for a week

Stop making things up. No one from the list get banned for accidental TK.

Yet you have said that accidental teamkills are still caused by your own fault. The „getting banned for 1 week“ was just a overexaggeration 😁

Of course it’s two way.

One can provide a good example, and the more that do this, the better the situation will become because others may notice the example, see it’s value and start to try to be a good example themselves.

Call me a naive optimist, but this has more potential to influence the community for the better than the “if you don’t care about me, neither will I care about you” approach.

And, this does not apply to WT specifically but Life in general, of course. ;-)

If you throw a punch in a phone booth, where your friend and your enemy struggle, it’s to be expected that you may hit your friend…

yeah I agree with you, but community doesnt care… Like I always been marking map, helping other with activating last hunt or marking on map and writing in chat, but people only care about grind… Like I could save them they would still bomb base and eject call me loser in chat and do that again…
So I decided to play this solo never help anyone…like I have been flying for like a minute behind enemy and let him kill my teammates and then I kill him…

It should not be expected that the radar missle follows the teammate even tho the enemy is locked. The teamkill was not caused by anyone’s fault but by a weird game mechanic that should not be there and is not in our hands

Sure friendly fire should be expected on close combat scenarios, but I feel like you are still getting punished by it by the Moderators like for Tk’ing on purpose from what I am reading here a lot

It’s fully in our hands if we fire or if we wait for a situation where the chance the missile may switch targets is much lower or non existent…
