but my AP didn’t go through a car is my point but can one shot a tank. looks and sounds goofy
The premise is to have them delete those fictional vehicles, which currently account for 90% of the game
What kind of AP shell? This matters much more than you think, because if it is an Armor Pericing High Explosive shell, then the car will cause the shell to detonate when it passes through.
im not sure what you mean, im still new to the game but as a new player these are my issues
He seems to be referencing that World of Tanks adds vehicles that did not exist in real life. Warthunder tries not to do that as much as possible, pnly adding vehicles that had prototypes built. There are a few exceptions.
I understand you are a new player, but you must forget what World of Tanks taught you. This game has no RNG for penetration or anything. Values shown in the statcards are what they will do, no more or less as described as long as the distance/angle are the same as described in the stat card. It is a slower, more methodical game that is very unforgiving of mistakes.
it was M62 76mm
oh yea absolutely, i don’t buy that junk lol
Yea, the M62 is a 75mm APCBC (armour pericing capped, ballistic capped high explosive) round. It detonates after passing through 14mm of steel (armor type can change this). That is the reason it detonated when you hit the car, it will do the same with light poles and such that are comprised of thicker steel.
I have had plenty of times where my round has gotten a double kill by passing through one tank and entering another. It just has to be a pure AP round with enough punch to pen all of that armor.
okay well still don’t see that being realistic being that fact a tank round especially AP would have gone through that entire car.
With APHE, there is no “round” to go through the tank as it explodes into fragments
If it hit the engine block, it would detonate that 76mm round 100% of the time. The fuze senses when it penetrates 14mm of steel (or equivilent material).
If it was a normal AP round (no explosive filler) then it would go through the car, but it would possibly get stopped by the engine depending on the engine’s size.
Unlike World of Tanks, Warthunder use Armor Pericing (capped, ballistic capped, capped ballistic capped) Armor Pericing High Explosive (capped, ballistic capped, capped ballistic capped), Semi-Armor Pericing (capped, ballistic capped, capped ballistic capped), Armor Pericing Composite Rigid, Armor Pericing Discarding Sabot, Armor Pericing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot, Armor Pericing Incendiary (and incendiary tracer), Armor Pericing Cermet Core (incendiary), and High Velocity Armor Pericing (tracer) rounds. Each is unique and used differently than the others. Warthunder has mich more finess and complexity than World of Tanks had.
Don’t frontally engage then.
Flank, use hills to your advantage and learn to time things, such as pulling out, firing, and pulling back simultaneously, those who cannot perform something like this typically struggle with pacing themselves or predicting their opponent’s next move. It’s something you learn over time and if you haven’t find someone who can teach you.
