When people complains about muh gun barrel damage (which I view as perfectly fair), muh expanded turret ring, gun breech, the core issue that they’re complaining about is not getting shot in the parts that will impale them, but rather, the frustration of it. Lots of people also complain about low damage as well.
With faster repair time, we can bring back better gun barrel damage mechanics (less bouncy for gun barrels), and expand on the tank damage model (like Abrams and turret basket), and possibly increase the damage for shots/spalling (Cough T-80BVM).
A trade off. Faster repairing, but also more damage totally.
And here’s the thing: repair time is not scaled proportionally to the gameplay match. 45 seconds repair is okay in low tier, slow tanks where you can hide and have ‘trench warfare’ with the opponents, but it is not fine for modern MBTs which have very fast paced gameplay.
This issue is made much worse by the inclusion of artifical modules like FCS, battery, that aren’t present on earlier tanks.
