So, why is the Su-34 getting added when it’s kinda going to be the worst option to grind for Russian air? The F-15E and F-15I are gonna have the 229 engines, thermals, fantastic CAS layout, fantastic A2A, fantastic Flight Performance, just overall a fantastic plane, along with HMD/HMS.
The Su-34 however, is getting first gen Flanker engines, no HMD, GROM-1’s were removed, no thermals, mediocre Flight Performance with an irl G limit of 7-8G’s (maximum), you do get R-73’s with R-77’s in which R-77’s are probably a horrible choice for top tier overall, 98 countermeasures, and a decent radar in which is a PESA but may get removed. Personally, I think the Su-27SM and the MiG-29SMT should get their actual upgraded engines so it helps cope with the F-15E/I. Yes, the Su-34 will be an ok CAS plane but still worse than the F-15E. So at this time, what’s the real upgrade besides KH-38’s and a PESA?
Grom-1 is for “economic purpose”, which what I mean by that is making less easier to play.
the su34 is gonna be a better cas option than the f15 for 2 very obvious reasons
- 6 kh38s they are the best agms in the game and its not even close.
- the only AA in the game that has more than 12 km range is on its own team, so it can get full tracking locks from outside aa range unlike the f15E.
intil they ad the Su-49 barkut i don’t see USSR having any chance to be better interms of fighters
Su-34 is WAY stronger than most nations in terms of top tier CAS and at 13.3, its going to be a really strong aircraft in air modes.
I do believe the Su-34 will be the best CAS plane. 6 x KH-38MT/ML on a platform that isn’t the Su-25 is pretty deadly.

SU-34 is still F-15 equivalent in air to air despite its slower speed.
Also Su-34 is not getting first gen Flanker engines, it’s getting newer engines.
It doesn’t need Groms and its A2G has quality over quantity. You get 6x Kh38s, which is currently the best A2G weapon in the game. Plus, the KH38s have built-in thermals. Since Russians don’t have to face the Pantsir, I can see why you would think that the F-15E will be better, but the Su-34 will be able to operate with impunity whereas the F-15E is much more likely to get shot down.
We cryamericans managed to get our 229 engines maybe next time cry more to get your flight models fixed ;)
Arguably better than the Su-27, by far in the manuverability department, and most likely in weapons, so I see it being competitive, but not competitive to the level of the F-15I/E
Does it have thrust vectoring?
No Su-34 has thrust vectoring.
It gets 6 r27ET’s. That alone makes it the best cap plane in the game.
I mean yeah I know about the 6 KH-38’s but it doesn’t have thermals and not everyone has the eyes of a hawk, so in a way, they’re situational unlike the ones on the Su-25SM3.
Only the Su-34M has the Thrust Vector, we’re getting the first production model.
Not entirely, if you’re not paying attention, sure, but I’d take AIM-9M’s any day of the week.
Irl it can’t keep up with a flanker for very long, so the FM we have in game is unrealistic technically.
