Hello Gaijin Team,
I would like to suggest two features that I believe would significantly improve Squadron Battles and increase the long-term replayability of War Thunder.
1. Tactical Commander Map Tools
Squadron Battles are played in an 8 vs 8 format where teamwork is the deciding factor. However, voice communication often becomes chaotic, especially during intense engagements.
I suggest giving the squad leader (the player who creates the squad and invites the members) access to tactical drawing tools on the tactical map. These tools could include:
Drawing lines to indicate attack routes.
Direction arrows.
Circles to mark defensive positions.
Attack and defense symbols.
Capture point markers.
“Hold Position”, “Push”, or “Fall Back” indicators.
These markings would be visible only to squad members and could disappear automatically after a short period.
This system would allow commanders to communicate strategies visually instead of constantly speaking over voice chat. It would improve coordination, reduce communication overload, and make Squadron Battles feel more tactical and organized.
2. Arcade Squadron Battles
Currently, Squadron Battles are only available in Realistic Battles.
I believe adding an Arcade Squadron Battles mode would introduce a fresh experience for players who enjoy competitive gameplay but prefer Arcade mechanics. It would also make Squadron Battles more accessible to newer players and increase participation.
Why This Matters
A game’s longevity depends on continually introducing new experiences rather than relying on the same gameplay for years. Tactical communication tools and an Arcade Squadron Battles mode would increase variety, improve teamwork, and keep the competitive scene fresh.
Thank you for taking the time to read this suggestion. I hope the developers will consider these ideas for the future of War Thunder.
