T95E1 armor specifications

guys. T95E1 is said to have composite armor or atleast have a version with it? i’ve got that from a declassified military document (reference:AD-524050-L)

There were several prototypes of T95E1, and some did and don’t have things like the new gun, composite armor, etc. the one w have in game didn’t have composite armor to my knowledge.

as i said some versions of it? so why are they not in the game?

Pretty sure that’s the E2, and it was “composite” of spaced armor iirc.

Too much effort for gaijin to add every model of every tank. Like the 10+ variants of some German tanks in WWII.

its not only the composite, the thermal rangefinder

I doubt a tank project from the 50-60’s could mount thermals.

By the way!, I was wrong, it’s a sandwich type armor.

Seen by:
The amount of damage could vary from displacement of a piece of outer layer cast armor (as above) to large-scale silica pulverization and inner layer cast armor bowing. In either case, the effectiveness of the armor against a subsequent projectile impact would be greatly reduced. Even so, it was determined that fused-silica composite armor provided superior protection against shaped-charge HEAT projectiles, and at least equivalent protection against AP projectiles as that of an equal weight of solid steel armor.

not all of them bc some of them failed but the main ones, think of it as the tiger 2 P and tiger 2 H same tank but one can be killed by an american 76mm and cant
like the one with major changes

I was talking about built ones, like the Sonder Kraftfahrzeug 251 off the top of my head had 20+ variants.

Sd.Kfz. 243 had 4 models, there are many Sd.Kfz.121 models, letters A to M, and the additional variants like the Wespe.

exactly its not like a modern composite armor its just steel on top of glass on top of steel
as said in the document i just mentionned glass or metals with silican cores are much better at stopping or disrupting shaped charges than steel

Silica is a mineral, this is actually, very, very similar to Soviet and Russian T-tank armor.

or the ussr T-28 it has 2 variants that feature some minor or even unnoticable changes

am no scientist lol

I mean, they were pretty major, some of them. The 3 in game are at least, mostly armor and gun modifications iirc.

you mean the T54E1 and T54E2?

Crystalline Silica is just a fine mineral, it has multiple properties that make it a great thermal insulator and cause the melting hot brass shaped charge to cool off before being able to penetrate.

The T-28 models…

there weren’t major gun changes i remember one having some mantlet mechanism for recoil and advanced fcs

Yes, the recoil of the 90mm was too high, they had to modify the shape to house a recoil system, as well as the version with a 105mm.

yes! and there was one with a thermal rangefinder i beleive it was on the side of the turret
